I like Jazal - he's a solid go-wide commander. I have also activated his ability more than once in a turn. It's very silly to do that.

Three mana for a 1/1 flyer and a Raise Dead is still a decent rate.

Really? The problem with stapling reanimation onto a low-cost body is that, early in the game, there are going to be fewer targets. I'd almost rather have Hill Giant stats and cost.

(There is the slight advantage in that there's more flicker/ bounce/reanimation aimed at lower-MV cards, so it's easier to recur the Imp; but if recursion is that important to your deck, why aren't you just recurring a card with actual value? )

Cadaver Imp can be used with Aluren shenanigans but a Hill Giant can't.

I miss +1/+0 counters and this birdy is pretty neat
it also demonstrates that artifact creatures should be a bit worse than colour dependant ones (compare Air Elemental or whatever). imo that bit of philosophy sorta fades in and out depending what block we're in...

same, I also miss the half counters. First saw it when I played against a deck using wall of roots. Wotc should bring half counters back someday.

The Oracle text catches that it has flying, while the card render doesn't. Whippoorwill almost had a new friend.

The "no more than four" mechanic is kind of cute, but the fact that it only looks at +1/+0 counters means it can get nuts with +1/+1 counters instead!

Half counters seem interesting but games could get so much more confusing

Sounds great on paper, plays poorly in real life. For one thing, high cost tutors are self-limiting; you're unlikely to cast an 8MV sorcery plus five other spells in the same turn. You can also generate many game-ending combos with just two or three colors, so the extra cards are usually just trinket text. In most cases, I'd rather just have a draw-X spell, even if it's slightly more random in what it finds.
