Zero sleeves. Not in the 90s when I started, and not now (granted IRL games are virtually non-existent for em, but no sleeved when I do get a game).
They screw up the riffle shuffle with bridge too much.

Re: The Murder-pact Conundrum
I can't tell which parts of the above were meant to be taken seriously or unseriously, This was meant to be punny: What I am saying is that it does not matter if it's a vacuum, oven, or washing machine[1] Ya'know "Vacuum" (space vs appliance) . . . Which is why it was marked with the supe...

Re: The Murder-pact Conundrum
In a vacuum, you're more likely to win a 3P game than a 4P game, right? Wrong. I did say "in a vacuum". I know you said vacuum, and it's okay for us to disagree. What I am saying is that it does not matter if it's a vacuum, oven, or washing machine [1] - in the 30 years I have been playin...

Re: The Murder-pact Conundrum
Interestin theory, but I beleive it's foundation is based on a false premise In a vacuum, you're more likely to win a 3P game than a 4P game, right? Wrong. Victory viability is far too complex to reduce to "100%/# of players" - some decks may increase their likelyhood of victory in a three...

Okay somehow I didn't realize until just now the staggering coincidence which is that today is actually my birthday xD I'm 36 btw ew, old Not old! Significantly younger than some of us. . . Besides, after 30, it's no longer a "Birthday" it's the Anniversary of your 21st Birthday. . . . . ...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Vadrik, Astral Archmage
I hate that this is the de facto best werewolf commander with the day/night mechanic baked inside when werewolves are very definitively Gruul. Having built at least six different Werewolf/"Werewolf and wolf" builds since they first debuted in INN, I have to disagree heavily. For Werewolf ...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Copy Enchantment
I have this in my Shapeshifter Tribal ( Halfdane ) on MTGO, sinc eit is all about making my own copies of other people's tech. Funniest use was copying the Stax player's Blind Obedience , who rage-quit "because my stuff should not enter tapped - only your stuff should. . . " Then again, it...

Re: 5c Mana Base
What's the best mana base I can build without any fetches? I built an excel sheet that calculates color percentage and helps classify how many lands need to produce each color. If I'm not running any fetches, then I prefer looking at non-typed "duals" - preferably starting with a 10-card ...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Silversmote Ghoul
I feel like this just wants something like Venser's Journal , if you ahev already gained the requisite life on Upkeep, then you can play out the attack/sacrifice/return however needed during the turn. Not sure it would make the cut in my Garza Vampire deck though, since that cares more about counter...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Momentary Blink
Ephemerate doesn't need two targets. I think he meant the first target and the rebound target. If you only have one creature and thet creature is removed before rebound, you have lost your second activation. Momentary Blink lets you chose when to recast (at the cost of possibly having it removed fr...

Colorless: Coldsteel Heart, Arcum's Astrolabe, Replicating Ring You seem to have missed the most common Snow-support artifact - Extraplanar Lens . . . You don't need to play Lens anymore. I know that "it costs 3 " but realistically no, it doesn't. You really have to play it as a 4 so you ...

Sunday, March 24th 2024; Back to Basics Back to Basics|usg This, like so many other purported "anti-ramp"/"anti-greed" cards tends to fail at it's intended task. At least, in my experience, the rampant Ramper and 1k Manabase barely notice the interference and the tap-lands-budge...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Nezumi Graverobber
I don't think Bog and crypt work to flip him. The targeted card has to still be in the graveyard, or the ability is countered, right? I thought the technique of the day was to empty the yard, then use his ability on the first binned card after it was empty. . . That said,., I have this in my Mono-B...

so which commanders have you found make your hands do a lot of work? I'm confused. Do you want to know which Generals make too much work, or which we enjoyed that were less "needy"? I'll just classify examples of each. . . Lots of game actions: Ghave, Guru of Spores Fungus Tribal - Spore ...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Nature's Resurgence
It takes quite a bit of doing to get enough creatures in your bin to outdraw all your opponents, and then you're stuck thinking about wanting to run graveyard hate to prevent them from getting advantage, all for one stupid card. This^ The only time I have seen this perform well was in a Golgari Ley...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Body Snatcher
I always read it as needing to exile itself from the yard to reanimate, and dismissed it, but it all being one trigger means you can move.it somewhere else in response and still get the reanimate. What do people use to abuse this? The most common I saw in EDH of yesteryear was in Dimir with Body Sn...

Re: Trouble in Pairs - SCD
The thing that annoys me about Trouble in Pairs is that the flavor makes no sense to me. Okay, there's a troublesome pair of people, presumably the opposition given that the card triggers off opponents doing things "in pairs"...so why do we benefit from that? If it was, like, "double...
