Splintering the Plane WUBRG
Legendary Sorcery (M)
(You may cast a legendary sorcery only if you control a legendary creature or planeswalker.)
Exile each permanent, then exile each player's hand and graveyard.
Each player may put up to five cards they own that were exiled in this way into their hand.
Exile Splintering the Plane and end the turn.

IIW: Alliterative and rhyming card names
Uuuh, are they splintering Dominaria, or Phyrexia? I can't help but feel that either way, they're making things worse.

Although interesting, I think this would be incredibly unfun.

Well, that's a black moth alright, but relatively straightforward designs. The most interesting to me is Skull Moth Dust, which has some interesting flavor implications.

Interesting tension, giving the choice to the opponent as whether to keep taking the drain, or give you a 2/2 lifelinked flyer. A more interesting decision than say Vedalken Ghoul.

Hah! I always like the absolutely weird giant moths from Kamigawa, and I'm glad they gave us a few more tidbits when we returned.

I'm honestly surprised we don't have a card flavored like this already, that of an usurped moth.

The card itself seems to me a little powerful; not strong enough to push into rare, yet a little overpowered for uncommon. Will need playtesting.

Oh, deep dive into mythology. Ascalaphus was the son of Acheron (sometimes a person and sometimes a river in the underworld), and genus Acherontia, the death's-head hawkmoths, are named after him.

However, Ascalaphus himself lends his name to a genus of owlflies, not moths.

Interesting decisions here involving this ship; nice that you don't sacrifice your crew if your opponent has nothing to destroy.

Interesting take! Nice that it doesn't lose the sacrifice-draw when it becomes a moth. However, a cocoon doesn't actually feed during this stage, but I assume something magical is going on.

Nice! Aminatou's strongly associated with death's-head hawkmoth imagery; even her powers manifest as these moths, and this is presumably exactly that. Nice pseudo-discard there to tie-in with her commander deck, although I would change the order of events to avoid confusion. I'm assuming that only the card draw is conditional and that each player puts a card on their library either way.

The Raven man, dark nightmare 2BB
Creature - human wizard nightmare
Whenever an opponent discards a card, they lose 2 life if you control a liliana planeswalker.
xb: Gain control of target planeswalker with X loyalty counters on it until end of turn. If that planeswalker is a liliana planeswalker, you gain control of that planeswalker for as long as you control The Raven Man instead.
If you would remove one or more loyalty counters from a planeswalker you control to activate a loyalty ability, you remove that many then add one instead. (You still need the listed number of loyalty counters to activate the ability. EG: a -6 ability removes 6 loyalty abilities, then adds 1 loyalty to the planeswalker, leaving it with 1 loyalty counter)
3/3

Look, the last ability, I'm not sure how to word it for MTG's rules. You understand how the ability is supposed to work, it does.

5/5

Rapid Regrowth GG
Enchantment
Landfall - Create a 1/1 green Saproling token creature. If you control a Nissa planeswalker, instead create two of those tokens.

In Nihilo 4BB
Sorcery

• Take an extra turn after this one.
• Each player shuffles their hands and graveyards into their libraries, then draw a new hand of seven cards.

Rhet-Crop Survivor 1W

That applies to all loyalty abilities, I only want this on negative cost abilities. Plus, because you can pay costs in any order, Carth's ability also lets you pay for a -8 if you only have 7 loyalty on the walker. I want you to be able to steal ults, but not kill a walker.

Yes but I mean doesn't it give you an alternative template? "Loyalty abilities that spend/decrease/cost loyalty cost and additional +1 to activate."

@Sporegorger_Dragon you correctly figured out how I came about naming the card, though I came through the genus name of the black witch moth. I'm not surprised there is some similar naming going on for other creatures though.
