The dragons may rule the skies, but the clans live on in the hearts of Tarkir's denizens. Returning home after her studies on Ikoria, Narset hears tales of the brave individuals who have risked their lives to end the tyrannical reign of the dragonlords. With Ugin's extended absence, the dragon storms are becoming weaker, and in Tarkir: Defiance, the rumblings of dissent begin to spread, sowing discord across the plane and dividing those who support the dragons from those who oppose them.

With her spark once again unstable, the Wanderer is cast out into the Multiverse to make her way across the planes. In The Wanderer's Travels, we follow her as she is dropped into locations both familiar and obscure (some even entirely unknown) and does her best to defend the defenseless before she is whisked off once again.

The inhabitants of many planes are only vaguely aware that they are not alone in the multiverse -- perhaps they have heard stories of visitors from other worlds, or perhaps not. But citizens of The Planar Republic know full well that other planes exist, since they share a government among five different planes. Long ago, the five planes were dominated by oppressive tyrants and savage warlords, but a group of five planeswalkers, one from each plane, sparked a series of rebellions that threw off the oppressive leaders and established the republic. But the original leaders are long dead, and the government is faltering in the face of mounting threats: corruption that empties its coffers, tensions between the inhabitants of the five planes, new rebels who seek to overthrow the aging government, and, perhaps most dangerous of all, a strange magic that has been causing the portals between the planes to wink out, one by one.

(Felt like re-upping that last one after the fairly unapologetic monarchism of NEO.)

Price Gouging shows a merchant measuring silver and grain on the scales at equal value. Angry old ladies are shown with only a small cup of grain each.

Rioting Miners shows rioting minors in oversized mining gear. That doesn't stop them from looting and causing mayhem as one of them preaches revolution.

Corrupt Senator shows a haughty looking elf posing for a portrait with spectacles and a pile of scrolls. The painter looks bored as she paints an almost identical portrait to the ones on the wall.
