Last we saw the plane of Givaad, Tezzeret and Daretti were engaged in a Contest of Subterfuge, which saw Daretti the victor and crowned Archbreaker. Celebrations and demonic festivities are in full swing, only to be interrupted by renouned sore loser Tezzeret, who has decided to take his crown by force- and also by opening the Planar Bridge for a full Phyrexian invasion.

Zelfain is a two dimensional plane. The art takes a dramatic stylistic shift, and many of the mechanics reflect the reality that exists in such a plane. As a plane, Zelfain is a high fantasy world divided into three great kingdoms locked in an eternal stalemate: Vakir (humans and dwarves), Bruva (golems and constructs), and Garvl (elves and fae).
