I LOVE the Hunted design space. Ensnared Bloatdrake seems like a bad deal, however, unless you can justify spending a card to get rid of the Spider. It's the only one of these that can actually be killed in a combat just by its own hunter token(s), mind. Of the original cycle, the only one that could theoretically die to (being blocked by) its own tokens is Hunted Troll, and even that has a built-in workaround.

Let me tell you, the Bloatdrake was the most difficult to find some sort of worthwhile death trigger without it being broken or becoming an auto-include in any random blue deck. The very first draft was a 3-drop with its death trigger being "Draw three cards". Yikes!

But I was in a Commander headspace when designing these, and you can always choose to give the tokens to someone you're not planning to attack yet. So in the end, I felt that a four-drop 4/3 flyer that replaces itself was enough of a boon for .

Plus, it was a deliberate choice that the Bloatdrake dies to (and can't kill) it's token. I always felt the Hunted Phantasm was the 2nd worst of that cycle (Hunted Horror is definitely number 1) because you give your opponent 5 power worth of creatures to outrace you, and I like to think this references that as well. I'm fine with blue having the worst creature out of a cycle
