In limited, too, seems like a solid card.
Nah it was crap in limited too.

I actually play Leather Armor in my Valduk, Keeper of the Flame. 1 cmc and a free equip is worth the mediocre stat boost.

Ertai, the Corrupted is a huge fan of this card. So is Ghave, Guru of Spores just because of Aura Shards and Nullmage Shepherd.

I'm sure there's also some sort of ub or br Donate deck in here.

Also, weakest Cloudstone Curio combo. gigachad.jpeg

Can't donate with Blim, Comedic Genius because of targeting.

Ghen, Arcanum Weaver likes, right?
Mirri, Cat Warrior counts as a Cat Warrior.

Cloudstone works because it does not target. Same with the kor skyfisher creatures.

I dunno, man. Unless you need expendable permanents for some strategic purpose, this seems pretty dangerous to have lying around. The juice ain't worth the squeeze.

This is the sort of thing that seems really good with Braids, Arisen Nightmare. Enchantments are usually pretty uncomfortable to sac, very few ways to make tokens etc. definitely niche though. 3 to draw 3 isn't that insane even with no downside, so the enchantment has to be at least slightly upside imo.

Never seen this card before. Interesting way to give your commander indestructible, and it doesn't feel as much like a 2 for 1 if you played the creature first. The timing to get it from the battlefield onto a relevant creature will be the problem. Unless you are sacrificing it, in which case, the creature portion is not as relevant. I like the combination of abilities, but the death trigger will be difficult to pull off when you want it to. Either opponents won't block your 3/3, or they won't attack into your 3/3 blocker unless they can do considerable damage, or they kill your threat and let you enchant some random creature with the aura side. Unless you sacrifice it yourself, I don't see the hoops are worth jumping through for the aura, and a 3/3 indestructible on activation is just okay.

I will never understand why they bothered to revisit the Nemian Lion trope when Fleecemane Lion was a cooler, simpler way to make that reference. Also, the art is just some generic lion, no cool lighting choices or poses, just another MGM cat looking generically impressive. %$#% Watchwolf is 6 times the card this will ever be.

Because the Nemean lion has to be skinned to really fit the myth. (I mean, it's actually pretty iconic to the Hercules myth, so much so that if he's wearing anything at all in artistic depictions, it's typically the Nemean lion's skin.)

The art is pretty lame, though.

I mean, I get the flavor. It just seems like they bent over backwards to make it fit. Fleecemane is the Nemean Lion, damn near invincible at its full strength. As a player, I want to command that power. I don't want the fabric of the lion, I want the lion. And I like clean rand simple rules text but that's just me.

As a design, it works nicely as a reference to both Fleecemane Lion and bestow (except in reverse).

A Limited monster in any set but it's hard to think of a home for it in EDH, because something that comes back as an Aura wants to be an enchantress piece, but the base card is a non-enchantment creature.
Psst, check the second page of Custom Card Contests & Games! Because of the daily contests, a lot of games fall down to there.

I really don't like the activation cost on this card, make it a 3MV 2/2 with indestructible that makes the creature it enchants indestructible, then sure, I could see it being in done commander centric aristocrats deck. As is, Nope.
All cards are bad if you try hard enough.

Important decks: Ebondeath, Dracolich, Emiel, The Blessed, Phelddagriff
Other: Ruhan, Zask, Kellan, Liesa, Galadriel, Orca, Sauron, Thantis, Rukarumel, Sisay, Stickfingers, Safana, Thantis, Dihada

If the creature had native indestructible, it could never "die" to be returned as an Aura. Bestow would have been the ability to go with in this case. Otherwise it would need to be discarded, milled, or countered to get in the GY to return as an aura. They could have dropped the activation on the aura side and been much better off.

Oh yeah, lmao (well technically, it could still die to Dismember or something like that and most decks that would play this would have sac outlets, but yeah, bestow seems like the way this card should have been made.

Exactly. If it was to have an activation cost (for limited balance or what-not), then it should have returned as a GW Enchantment Artifact - Equipment and have the cost be an equip cost. . .

Yeah, I'm not really a fan of Bronzehide Lion either. Fleecemane Lion is more interesting as a voltron base, and if you care about the aura half, Timely Ward and Shield of the Oversoul are simpler. Maybe if you're desperate for more low-cost cats in Arahbo, Roar of the World?

Definitely one of my favourite utility lands. Doesn't even prevent reciprocal damage, so you can stack block with impunity. Taps for mana too. I'd take it over maze of ith, or any other similar competitor, easy.

Love this land. Maze of Ith is a fair comparison; what you lose in mana consumption, Kor Haven makes up for in flexibility. I am constantly surprised by how few people seem to play this.

What Dirk said. This land is great at deflecting people from attacking you with random large things in the mid game. People are usually not particularly worried about the land unless they're voltron only so it doesn't eat removal because it is purely defensive.
