Once again it's time to vote for the winner of May's CCL! Once again, the challenge was this:
Design five cards: one monocolored card of each color, each of which has at least one mana symbol of a different color in its rules text.
And here are the entries:

Cavalry Call 4WW
Sorcery {U} [Selesnya watermark]
Choose one —
  • Create 4 1/1 white Soldier creature tokens.
  • Put two +1/+1 counters on each creature you control.
Ennoble 7GG (You may cast this spell for its Ennoble cost. If you do, choose both.)
The horn calls to any Selesnyan ledevs and dire wolf mounts in the area—or, at very special moments, both at once.

Treebound Arc-Scimitar 3G
Artifact - Equipment {U}
When Treebound Arc-Scimitar enters the battlefield, create a green 1/3 Elemental creature token, then attach this to it.
Equipped creature gets +3/+1.
Equip 1R
A bolt of lightning, driven deep into a body of oak.

Puny Aspirant 1R
Creature - Goblin Soldier {U}
Whenever Puny Aspirant attacks, you may have it fight target creature you don't control.
Outlast 1W (1W, t: Put a +1/+1 counter on this creature. Outlast only as a sorcery.)
A typical Abzan warrior? No. But after stowing away in the convoy, he had just two choices left: burn out young or toughen up.
2/1

Secret-Monger 3UU
Creature - Human Rogue {U} [Dimir watermark]
Whenever Secret-Monger deals combat damage to a player, draw a card.
3BB: Put two -1/-1 counters on each creature. Activate this ability only as a sorcery.
"Note: The miasma grenades are supposed to be a last resort. They tend to... draw attention."
3/3

Call from the Necropolis 5B
Sorcery {U}
Return target creature card in a graveyard to the battlefield under its owner's control. It's a white and black zombie in addition to its other colors and types.
Overload 5WW (You may cast this spell for its overload cost. If you do, change its text by replacing all instances of "target" with "each".)
The Mortalitasi raise the bodies of Nevarra's dead to honor who they were in life. But over the centuries, the latent power in the Necropolis has grown beyond all living knowledge.

Seeker of the Humble 1WW
Creature - Human Scout (R)
Play with the top card of your library revealed.
You may play creatures with converted mana cost 2 or less from the top of your library.
1G, T: If the top card of your library is a land or a creature, put it into your hand. Otherwise, put that card on the bottom of your library.
2/2

Bloodbear Elite 2G
Creature - Warrior (U)
Trample
Whenever Bloodbear Elite deals combat damage to a player, if it's green, that player sacrifices an artifact or enchantment.
Legacy R (R, Exile this card from your graveyard: Target creature you control gains this creature's abilities and types.)
The ferocity of the ancient Bloodbear tribe has inspired many warriors, but few appreciate the reasons for their fight.
3/2

Eerie Wake BBB
Sorcery (R)
Kicker - Exile three creature cards from your graveyard.
Until end of turn, you may cast creature spells from player's graveyards if you pay an additional 3 life.
If Eerie Wake was kicked, add WUBRG. Spend this mana only to cast creature spells from graveyards.

Divining Fire 2RR
Enchantment (U)
When Divining Fire enters the battlefield, it deals 3 damage to any target.
The first time a noncreature source you control deals damage to a player each turn, scry 2, then you may pay U. If you do, draw a card.

Lambent Wave 2UU
Sorcery (R)
Return each creature to its owner's hand. If WW was spent to cast this spell, your opponent's can't cast creature spells until your next turn.
The victims resisted their would-be rescuers, content to drift away among the water's beautiful lights.
Poll will remain open for five days. Good luck to both finalists:

I'm gonna go through the designs one by one. It was a tough call. Good luck to you both.

Cavalry call — Good effect and I get the difference between Ennoble and Entwine but I question whether this is a good enough use for a keyword that's basically Entwine most of the time. If this card made better use to differentiate between the two I'd rate it higher. I'm just being nit-picky for the contest otherwise it's perfectly fine.

Tree-Bound Arc Scimitar - I really like this card, very useful. Big fan of living weapon and this feels strong but not overpowered. Thumbs up for me on this one.

Puny Aspirant - I love Goblin Legionnaire and this feels like that. More often than not it'll be a kill spell for 2WR which is great, but I'd like to see it do more otherwise I'll just play Lightning Helix or similar. Knowing it's gonna die most of the time discourages me from playing it, even though it is good value. Goblin legionnaire I can at least attack for 2 and kill a x/2. It's good but outlast is too slow to make it worthwhile and that kills it for me.

Secret-Monger — These are the cards I love. Auto-include in a lot of my decks. I may be overestimating but it's strong. Not complaining but even at 5 this is a limited bomb. Not super constructed worthy but I'd could see it having a spot in a ub/x control deck. High marks for this one.

Call from the Necropolis — Home run here. Really well done. Goes perfectly into any of my B/W decks. Strong, balanced, suitably costed. If there were one thing I could change it would be that all the creatures entered the battlefield under my control for the overload. I normally wouldn't care about that, but this being a competition, that's my only remark.

Seeker of the Humble — Potentially strong however the deckbuilding constraints to get its ability to actually pay off, seems like a trap. The draw helps but if I'm already in green I could be doing other better things. I wouldn't underestimate this card but feels more uncommon to me and I don't think it does quite enough.

Bloodbear Elite - I need this. Fits in with warriors, good cost to effect, gives you an option when to use it and trample to boot. Good card that can easily be overlooked. Legacy gives it some extra pizzazz.

Eerie Wake - 5 color mono black is one of my favorite archetypes and this does everything I want. Could be stronger than expected, it's a mini Yawgmoth's Will and super Dark Ritual but I don't care.

Divining Fire - This card doesnt seem super strong but it could be really good. To use it effectively you gotta build around it but the pay off could be very well worth it. 4 mana is costly but appropriate. This would be a sleeper card to me.

Lambent Wave — Hell yeah. This will be printed or something similar one day.

Overall great cards from both. The only way I could pick was by being hyper-critical and I picked my personal preference so it's not a matter of quality. They're pretty much on-par with each other. Congratulations to you both on great work.

3 outta the 5 I could see myself making use of.

Phyrexian Editor - I would have put you at 3 but call from the necropolis returning creatures to an opponent's control unfortunately killed that card for me. It wouldn't normally be a concern but since I had to dissect the cards I had to take issue with that. Otherwise it was neck and neck.

Can anyone vote in this poll? Sorry, I don't usually wander into this part of the forum.

Cards I liked are..

Secret Monger from Phyrexian Editor - throwing a bomb so to confuse or kill some of the blockers. I like the concept.

Lambent Wave from Ink-Treader - would use this one if it's a real card. Flavorful too, feels like Lorwyn card. My vote goes to Ink-Treader.

@Pygyzy and @The Fluff (and anyone else who might be confused): just a heads up to make sure that you fill out the actual poll at the top of this page if you want to vote -- announcing your preference in a post has no effect.
