I could get behind Generous Gift, but Exile is so much stronger.

Lotta fantastic discussion happening here, and of note both Faceless Butcher and Path to Exile have been confirmed. I find myself in a unique position in which I could either knock Anguished Unmaking out or deadlock it. I'm not exactly the biggest fan of the card, though I do think it's playable but probably not first pick. I'd like to see the instant vindicates in the deck first. For this reason, I'll yay it and bring it to a 2-2 lock.

Faceless Butcher yay - 3 nay - 1
Anguished Unmaking yay - 2 nay - 2
Path to Exile yay - 3 nay - 0

That'll bring our interaction slots to 8/14 with @toctheyounger on the clock to end this cycle, and @Henlock on to start the next cycle.

If Anguished Unmaking isn't THE instant speed Vindicate, what is???

Touché, but I still think I'd rather exile.

Beast within is a great card. I play it in many decks. But blowing up a problem permanent only to have it recurred is so frustrating.
I wouldn't want all my removal at 3 mana, but definitely think exile is worth it.

Aura Shards is about to get it's third yay vote here from me to confirm it, even if the card should be banned. Stop owning my decks you stupid unfair enchantment from InVasion :madhot:

Anguished Unmaking yay - 2 nay - 2

For today we'll put @RxPhantom and newcomer @cheonice on the clock, with 9/14 interaction slots filled.

Oh, my bad. I thought I had posted my nomination.

I want to nominate Author of Shadows. It"s expensive, yes, but it leaves a card behind and can get us something we"reinterested in.

I"m late for yaying Shards, but let's yay it anyway

I like that it hits all opponent graveyards on etb, I'm unsure if five is worth the cost but I think I tentatively yay this. I wouldn't be surprised if someone swayed my vote though.

Author of Shadows is new to me. I like it. Yay.
I think you are certain to hit a spell you want to cast with this so it is worth the extra mana.

Yay to Author. Looks pretty neat and I had never heard of it.

As for my nomination...I have again been working all day and I'm kinda spent. I'm gonna nominate the previously discussed Retribution of the Ancients. I really like the idea of using these counters for more than just beating face, and since we'll probably be amping up counters, we should get a lot of mileage out of it.

I'll yea Retribution. Saves us a removal slot and it'll do good work I suspect. Chances are we'll be able to use it well without depleting our counters entirely.

Yay to Retribution. Looks like a really fun inclusion and i like the idea to make use of additional counters.

I'll nominate Shaile, Dean of Radiance // Embrose, Dean of Shadow diance // Embrose, Dean of Shadow[/card] adiance // Embrose, Dean of Shadow[/card]. While not the most efficient interactive piece, Emrose can deal with small utility creatures, wihle all the other options offer a great range of flexibility.

Nay to Author. I played him and he always felt terrible and clunky.

Yay Retribution
Nay Embrose? For interaction this seems pretty poor. I get that there is synergy but this seems like a stretch.

I guess Author of Shadows does have three yays officially. I'm a bit more shaky given it's only as good as your opponents and they need to have something in the bin then that you care about. If it had flash...idk, I'm comparing it to Gravebreaker Lamia or Agent of Erebos now and I'm starting to waffle on it. I don't think I want to yay it anymore, but if someone else does then that's that. Admittedly I'd like it a lot more if I could grab lands off it.

I'm not the biggest fan of Retribution. I guess if we have some undying stuff I'd be more inclined to like it though. It's probably going to get confirmed either way, so I may as well yay it now.

I think Shaile, Dean of Radiance // Embrose, Dean of Shadow is actually really good, especially the flip side that gives redundancy on Nikara. But I don't consider it interaction. I'm gonna abstain from it until we get to synergy slots.

Anguished Unmaking yay - 2 nay - 2
Author of Shadows yay - 2 nay - 1
Retribution of the Ancients yay - 4 nay - 0
Shaile, Dean of Radiance // Embrose, Dean of Shadow yay - 0 nay - 1

As we hit 10/14 interaction slots, let's put @Dunharrow and @aliciaofthevast on the clock.

Attrition
It comes up a lot. Aura Shards always makes me think of it.
I know we have a flickering theme probably but sacrifice loops are also pretty good and this is a good non-infinite sac outlet that is great removal.

I think Attrition is really good here, we're gonna leverage it super easy I think! Yay, yay, yayyyy!

Idk what to think of author of shadows. Is this really the best in class at this? How often do we care about and know that we get a spell of value off it, and not like, a Spirited Companion? Sounds like a high variance card and I think that makes it hard to evaluate in a vacuum. I guess by its nature it makes it a nay because we can't consistently count on it.

I think Shaile is cute but it's not the time for it? It probably should end up in the deck though.

I think I'm just gonna nominate Beast Within tbh. It's simple, elegant, and gets the job done.

I'm sure we can make room for Saffi and Rallier to mitigate the worst of Attrition for ourselves. Don't see why not so yea.

I am popping by to put a word for Author of shadows. First it's not about the card we get, it is nominated as an interaction slot for graveyards. The two other ETB graveyard exiles, namely Agent of Erebos and Angel of Finality, are cheaper but hit only one graveyard. We can consistently count on Author of Shadows exiling all graveyards but ours.
The extra card is just a bonus, yet it results in that reusing this ETB will net us lot more than reusing the other options.

I am yaying Attrition. I like the idea of diversifying into sac loops.
I am yaying Beast Within and Anguished Unmaking too.

On Shaile and Embrose, I don't dislike then, but I agree that they are not to be counted on as interaction.

@Shaile and Embrose: yeah that's probably fair, they are better suited for synergy slots.

If we want gy-removal, why don't we use the classics? Bojuka Bog, scavenger grounds, and Soul-Guide Lantern all get the job done.
