Pretty surprised they touched Morph/Megamorph again. Generally derided mechanic as far as I've ever heard.

OK start but last year had Avenger of Zendikar so we can't confirm that they learned just yet. Solid reprint but it had a recent reprint in Battlebond. Need something like Oracle of Mul Daya level of reprint

One Planeswalker reprint per deck. Hmmmm. My guess:

Flashback - Jace without a doubt! I don't know which Jace though.
Madness - Nahiri from shadows over Innistrad would be perfect.
Populate - Garruk (not sure which one but most make beasts and wurms)
Morph- this one is the hardest because not many commanders have dealt with morph. I'm really unsure myself

Oooh that Gerrard art is sooo sweet. Love the other crewmembers being portrayed. Can't wait to put him in Sisay.

Fingers crossed for Volrath

I would say ugin since he is the master level of morph since he thought all of tarkir how to do it (each clan got a different tenpchniqur) but it would have to be the war of the spark ugin and that's too recent of a print

He can't be, considering the color identities of the face cards.

He won't. He needs to fit the color pie of the face commanders sadly :/. He will probably be mono white

Nahiri isn't perfect because she has White in her color identity.

Kadena seems super sweet. Play a free morph dude every turn, AND all your morph and manifest cards now cantrip? Hot damn.

Considering color identity i thought Gerrard would have Black, having cards like Gerrard's Verdict and Vindicate been cards related to him. But he could either be Boros or Naya from the art. I hope they give him justice, his current card is so disapointing.

Shoot totally missed that for a minute. That means I'm unsure who would be madness. Maybe Ob Nix or Liliana. They both have discards.

Tibalt, The Fiend Blooded seems like an ideal candidate.

Happy to see Anje as a card. None of these decks supports themes I'm interested in playing, so for now I'm leaning pass. The PW reprints and the cards in the 99 might help change my mind. Given that lately I've been hoarding cards for Kykar, Sevinne looks like it would be the most likely for me to buy, because at least I'd have a big card pool in Jeskai colors.

Liliana of the Veil would be great for the madness deck!

Oh who am I kidding. XD

I'm not too impressed with the new cards so far. Not that they won't find a home, but they are just mechanics mixed together, nothing as innovative as, say, Arixmethes, Slumbering Isle or Xantcha, Sleeper Agent. Hopefully they reserve the wacky designs for other legends.

So my group kinda called Naya populate (and the legend is a former Selesnya turned Gruul shaman!) and Jeskai flashback, with BR Madness a given. Sultai morph was def unexpected as most thought either Temur or 5C.
I do like that Sevinne survives Earthquakes and Wildfire effects, kinda excited by them. And by Ghired. I'll wait and see what the side legends are before committing to either.
Since we're likely to get Gerrard, we could see a new Volrath in the BR deck 😉 And I'm still hoping for a new Ixidor in the morph deck 🤞🏼

Did they say the planeswalkers in the deck are going to be allowed as commanders, or just included in the deck?

I think Narset would work for Flashback.

Anje is good, but too restrictive in colours. There is not just Inistrad Wizards!!! Many madness cards from the Torment era are in U and G. Her Ravager is powerful.
Kadena is somewhat nice, but truth be told, Animar is still FAR superior for the morph-centric decks. Silencer will probably be a solid card for these decks too.
Sevinne seems powerful in Jeskai. Perhaps 1 mana more expensive than he should but I am happy with him. Between Zeedru, Kikar, Narset and this, Jeskai really seems to have unique and fun to play commanders for every taste......
Ghired I find a little bit..... boring? I am not sure if he can be better than Marath f.e. (at least Ghired offers 1 more colour than Trostani) but it is a nice try.

First impression: Good. We are still waiting for more though.
Zedruu the Greathearted 4-Card Combos Puzzlebox
Gluntch, the Bestower Controlled Hug
Sliver Queen Enchantress
Kynaios and Tiro of Meletis Saclands
Teneb, the Harvester AntiBlack Pestilence
Dakkon Blackblade Control
Riku of Two Reflections Dragon's Approach
Phelddagrif Hippo Factory Lifegain
Damia, Sage of Stone Casual Food Chain
Minsc, Beloved Ranger Win(nie)s
Thraximundar Zomblins
The Omenkeel Vehicles
Hogaak, Arisen Necropolis Dredge/Reanimator
Hans Eriksson Smash

right off the cuff.
is there enough support for morph or madness. . .like. . .there may be a lot of cards with madness but only some are worth playing and there are only so many good morph cards (I may be completely missing the point as how many cards do you need for a "theme" idk)

the populate guy looks fun
the free morph with a draw looks intriguing
the vamp look a little meh
the rwu card is within colors I suppose

can't wait for more

Not really. Using Animar to throw down all the morphs in your hand for free isn't as helpful as many people believe, because you still have to pay to turn it face up, and it's pretty easy to overcommit into a board wipe. Kadena at least makes your morphs replace themselves, so a board wipe is less crippling.
