Today's Challenge:
Enchantment sacrifice in red (yours) or black (opponents')

.::To Enter::.
In a single post:
  • Name exactly two other players to vote for their entries for the previous challenge. (In the event that there are two or fewer entries that you are allowed to vote for, you may vote for only one.)
  • Make a card that fits the current challenge.
  • Include an "If I Win" (IIW) for tomorrow's challenge if you win.
Each day we use the challenge of the previous day's winner. In the case of a tie, we'll use the IIW of the tied player who has least overall points.

I've been wondering this for a while, but now seems like a good time to ask. Can someone explain why people design so many black cards that kill enchantments and white cards that make both players draw?

Promise Freedom 2RR
Sorcery (R)
Gain control of target creature until end of turn. Untap that creature. It gains haste until end of turn.
Escape—RR, Sacrifice an enchantment and exile six other cards from your graveyard. (You may cast this card from your graveyard for its escape cost.)

Because (mostly so that these mono colors aren't crippled in EDH) R&D has decided that black can sometimes get opponent-only enchantment kill and white can sometimes get symmetrical-only draw. We haven't seen much of either yet in real sets.

EDIT:
Here's where it says white may be able to get symmetrical draw - under Happily Ever After
Here's where it says black can at least force opponents to sac enchantments - under Pharika's Libation
Psst, check the second page of Custom Card Contests & Games! Because of the daily contests, a lot of games fall down to there.

Search your library for a nonland card, reveal it, and put it into your hand. You lose life equal to that card's converted mana cost. Each opponent sacrifices an enchantment of equal or greater mana cost. Then shuffle your library.
