Hi, for example my youthful knight blocks a Gurmag Angler. Cast blacklance paragon during declare blockers step, target youthful knoght. Would the youthful knight survive combat with the angler?
Accepted Answer
It will survive, assuming no tricks from your opponent. Blacklance Paragon gives Youthful Knight deathtouch, and it already has first strike, so it will kill the Gurmag Angler as soon as first strike damage is dealt.

Just a little note: you can't cast Blacklance Paragon in the declare blockers step as no player gets priority in that step.
You declare blockers (all of them) them move to the step after (before the first strike damage step) and cast Paragon there, if your opponent don't do anything else you move to first strike damage and your knight can safely impale the poor frog without fearing being eaten

There seems to be some confusion here. There is no "step after declare blockers but before First Strike Damage step". The step before the First Strike Damage step *is* the Declare Blockers step. And players absolutely get priority in that step. They just do so after blockers are declared which means players don't get priority in Declare Blockers before all blockers are declared but they do get priority, still in the Declare Blockers step, after blockers are declared.
