I'm regressing tv wise. A buddy of mine linked me to a YouTube compilation of all the Beavis and Butt-Head music video segments (5 hours worth) and I binged it. Then started rewatching the series. Then started learning the opening theme on guitar..

I honestly have never laughed at anything harder than Beavis and Butt-Head.. no idea why but it's just the funniest show possibly ever. It cracks me up even by myself. It's especially hilarious to catch all the political and social commentary which is buried in there that I didn't notice as a 13 year old.
I..... might have to do this. Where did you rewatch the shows?

Geeze that article makes me feel even worse. Looking at Titania for instance it sounds like she has 10 variants: non-foil regular, non-foil retro, non-foil full art, foil regular, etched regular, foil retro, etched retro, foil retro without art foiled, etched retro without art foiled, and foil full art.

I signed up for the 0.99 trial of Paramount channel on Amazon. It doesn't have the last season that came out a few years ago but has the first ones.

Yeaaaaa I've given up with trying to track the new card types. like the fact there are 10 prints of 1 card in set is stupid.

My Bundle's Notables weren't much, still got my money's worth though. Dakkon, Shadow Slayer|MH2, Marsh Flats|MH2, Shardless Agent|foil|65728, and Verdant Catacombs|MH2 for notables/$$$, the rest were $2-ish rares. Nice selection among them, mostly.

Foil old border damn
Foil ignoble hierarch
Thrasta
Subtlety
Old border sword of hearth and home

Bunch of other random stuff. Of course nothing I actually want to put in a deck except fetches.

Build Thrasta. Come on, ya know ya want to. :P

/shrug. But yeah, pull a couple fetches and "your" bundle is basically worth it.

Eh, I mean I spent $150 or so, and I got maybe $150 of street value of random stuff so it's arguable :)

The going rate seem to be about one fetch per bundle and they're going around $30 on average, so you really need to pull 2 blue ones to be making any real "value"

That said, I am 100% excited about seeing all the prices crater once the set is officially out so I think they did a good job of packing so much value in there honestly. All the EDH staples being so damn cheap is going to be great.

So I just encountered some forum weirdness: I tried to thank Dirkgently for a post in the RCotD thread and the forum told me my thanks was invalid. I have never felt my gratitude spurned like this before and I still don't know why the site decided Dirk didn't deserve it lol.

Lol, well I do see a thank on my last post if that's the one you mean. But it's probably true that I don't deserve it.

That reminds me, I've noticed while lurking through old posts, some of them don't even have a "thank" button.

On the topic of prices cratering, I'll say that I was initially skeptical of collectors boosters but now I love them. They flood the market with foils and variants making it excessively easy for me to cherry pick nice things for reasonable prices.

I was initially skeptical, now I tend to grab a collector's box as long as the set looks interesting. I mostly grab foils from new sets anyways, so it's been a reasonable way to gamble on packs and get more things that I actually want to use.

My wife and I pulled the trigger on another moderately pricey hobby by picking up a manual espresso machine and grinder. They both showed up this morning and it's going to be a good time figuring out how to pull decent shots from those.

This round of Secret Lairs come with an AFR set booster (12 card ver.). That's a bit better than the likely foil JMP basics as the internal mystery gamble.

You'll never look back, trust me. Get you some good beans and you'll never pay for coffee outside of your house again. We've had a variety of machines off and on for the last decade and we'd never be without one now. Most cafes here in Auckland that I've been through can't make a decent coffee to save themselves.

To be fair, all coffee tastes bad.

Yeah, to each their own, I used to hate it. I feel the same way about most booze. It's part of why my social life is virtually nonexistent, NZ has a weird relationship with alcohol.

I feel bad about complaining about this (considering it's relatively minor) but my only significant remaining side-effect from getting covid is that some things have dramatically changed tastes. The most notable change is that coffee smells and tastes completely different than is used to and I hate it now.

What the heck is an "AFR booster"? AFR ain't no acronym I ever heard of. Do they speak English in AFR?

Oh. Well, dang. I've not bought any secret lairs ever, but if the bonus used to be a stained glass art promo and is now just a plain old set booster, that seems like a definite downward slide. Why even offer a bonus at all if it's just some plain old pittance someone can buy elsewhere without pringles attached?
