Unofficial Spoiler Discussion
- Compendium of leaks for those so inclined.
- There's some genuinely badass design space being explored here. Walkers with partner, kooky off-colour stuff like Ich-Tehik (try that with Smothering Tithe! ). Obeka has the feel of a half-baked science fair project, which is the best sort of feel for a fun jank deck.
- At the same time, nothing that's been revealed yet reeks of being broken in half, which is good. Gavin mentioned they took ages to make sure the partners wouldn't break anything, and I guess the same extends to the other things. At first glance, neither Obeka nor the turtle are busted. The latter's command zone Kismet seems disruptive, but he lacks a mechanism to break stax orb parity to really make use of it.
- Hell yeah Three Visits, it's been way too long. This year's good for PR between this and the Grim Tutor. Notice the Staff of Domination reprint, that thing's money too.
- Ironically, the new card I'm most excited for is Esior. Time to dust off Tymna and go for Esper Edric? Might well be! Deck time!
They come from Commander Legends Collector Booster Packs so yes, these are foil. You'll be able to play our goat lord in all its shining glittery glory.
And a draw engine in Black that partners no less. I can see this dude being very common, the grind value is insane and will open up Crats to a strong engine in various colour combos. Given an Izzet partner that makes tokens or other relevant ability, I'd be interested in brewing one for Grixis.
ISBPathfinder wrote: ↑3 years agoUnofficial Spoiler DiscussionMy biggest issue with planeswalker commanders and walkers archetypes is that they tend to slow down games a lot and play in such a way that draws games out for a long time. They often heavy on creature defenses and or creature sweepers and the loyalty of the walkers also helps preserve life totals on top of that. It makes for a slog of a game if you ask me to play against walker commanders and walkers.deck
I don't particularly think the ones I see spoiled are more or less problematic, I just don't like seeing them.

Run all the lose at end of turn extra turn cards in Red; Final Fortune, Last Chance, Warrior's Oath. Glorious End to make one opponent skip the rest of their turn.
Makes it much harder for opponents to cast Cyclonic Rift not during their own turn as you can tap to may end the turn and of course most times people are going to choose not to have their permanents returned so will choose to end it while CR is on the stack.
In this respect it's hard for opponents to cast any type of advantages cards at instant speed. They are normally done at end of turn just before turn their turn, but with an untapped Obeka they are really forced into doing it during their own turns.
Pact of Negation is a little more fail safe.
Anything that triggers at the "beginning of end step" or "end of combat" can be negated.
Hand into play; Sneak Attack. Planebound Accomplice, Purphoros, Bronze-Blooded, Shifty Doppelganger
Graveyard recursion; Dawn of the Dead, Feldon of the Third Path, Sedris, the Traitor King, Whip of Erebos, Corpse Dance, Goryo's Vengeance, Shallow Grave.
Tokens; Flameshadow Conjuring, Mirror March, Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker, Saheeli Rai, Splinter Twin, Mirror Mockery, Blade of Selves.
Card draw; Psychic Vortex, Ideas Unbound, Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker, Valakut Exploration.
Sakashima's Student is out: the three returning mechanics are known and ninjutsu isn't one of them. @GinuquGinuqu wrote:
I'm hoping they reprint Sakashima's Student in this. it wasn't on the list or in 2XM and its price is crazy. I already bought a Planechase Anthology but foolishly traded the student away and I don't want another box..
