See this post as an example:

viewtopic.php?f=11&t=425

Is there a way to have the box tags default to being the same size as the post window? Or, do we need to add in a parameter for that so it "stretches" to match the rest of the post instead of being moved to the left side like it is?

Width=100%

Otherwise they seem to autosize based on contents somehow.

Be mindful the size they are limited to will change if you put the in a float. The float always seems to size dynamically and then that constrains the box.

That is too bad. I like that we have the option (I will do that) but it just seems strange that "width=100%" isn't the default. But, at least it gives me something so it doesn't look weird.

EDIT: Although, now that I did it, it is interesting that setting it to 100% actually makes it too big where the right side of the box is cut off. I had to set it to 99% to still see the right edge of the box.

Oh, yeah I forgot that sorry. I actually found that in testing too and then blanked it. :)

My full sized box is 99% not 100% (because it clips the right side).

I can't quite figure out the rhyme or reason to what makes it dynamically size around Lists particularly.

Try [box width=auto]<text>[/box] and see what happens.

That seems to work out well. Which then brings up the request of just having the width=auto as being the default if possible. Not sure if anyone else likes the way it is now so I certainly don't want to speak for everyone. If that is the case, I will remember to do width=auto each time.

"Auto" is the magic size that makes it fit the width perfectly.

The default Box size (298px) is designed to be the perfect size for wrapping a card image:
