@bravelion83 you get the vote since I can see what you were going for, and I like it. But as written you've got a Black Lotus++ in disguise, as you can activate the mana ability in response to the etb.

As I said, I had a hunch I was playing with fire with that card. I hadn't thought of that interaction, obviously. Probably turning the "when etb" (triggered ability) into "as etb" (replacement effect that happens before you can do anything) would be enough. Hopefully.

I'll take the prompt as the "rules setting" ability of white.

@bravelion83 My intention with the prompt was more to the point of what netn10's entry is (like a fundamental change to MtG's core rules), but I don't think that should matter haha. I think the beauty of New Challenge Every Day is that everyone gets to take their own spin on not just the prompt, but also the interpretation of the prompt i.e. death of the author.
