Today's Challenge:
Paradisiacal or hellish places

.::To Enter::.
In a single post:
  • Name exactly two other players to vote for their entries for the previous challenge. (In the event that there are two or fewer entries that you are allowed to vote for, you may vote for only one.)
  • Make a card that fits the current challenge.
  • Include an "If I Win" (IIW) for tomorrow's challenge if you win.
Each day we use the challenge of the previous day's winner. In the case of a tie, we'll use the IIW of the tied player who has least overall points. In case of a further tie, the IIW of the earlier poster will be used.

As I said, I had a hunch I was playing with fire with that card. I hadn't thought of that interaction, obviously. Probably turning the "when etb" (triggered ability) into "as etb" (replacement effect that happens before you can do anything) would be enough. Hopefully.
I'll take the prompt as the "rules setting" ability of white.

Creatures are not destroyed for having lethal damage on them.
Damage on creatures is not removed at the cleanup step.
Tormented Flesh gets +X/+0, where X is the amount of excess damage on it.
Whenever Tormented Flesh or another creature dies, that creature's controller loses life equal to the amount of excess damage on it.

@bravelion83 My intention with the prompt was more to the point of what netn10's entry is (like a fundamental change to MtG's core rules), but I don't think that should matter haha. I think the beauty of New Challenge Every Day is that everyone gets to take their own spin on not just the prompt, but also the interpretation of the prompt i.e. death of the author.

Whenever a face-up creature would be destroyed, instead remove all damage from it and turn it face down. It's a 2/2 creature.
Whenever a creature card is put into a player's graveyard from the battlefield, each other player creates a token that's a copy of that creature, except it's a 1/1 white and black Spirit with no name.
Creatures without names can't block or be sacrificed. (Face-down creatures don't have names.)
The fate of so many: to be rendered cosmically meaningless.
