exile cards with {unique name} counters
dyd wrote: ↑3 years agoAuthor's note exactly! Other examples are Mairsil, the Pretender, Pako, Arcane Retriever, or Rayami, First of the Fallen (blood counters are not exclusive to Rayami, but other cards use them on the battlefield).void_nothing wrote: ↑3 years ago.::Note of the Day::.
Etrata, the Silencer would be an example of this challenge I believe.

Solarja, Raiser of Armies
Legendary Creature – Angel Warrior
Flying, haste
Whenever Solarja attacks, exile up to one creature card with converted mana cost 3 or less from a graveyard and put a conscription counter on it. Then create a token that's a copy of an exiled creature card with a conscription counter on it. The token is tapped and attacking.

Academy's Effort
Tribal Sorcery - Wizard (Rare)
Exile a noncreature, nonland card from your hand with three research counters on it.
As long as Academy's Effort is in your graveyard, Wizards you control have " , : Remove a research counter from target card in your exile, then if it has zero research counters, cast it without paying its mana cost."
IIW: Vehicle with creature type.

Meadowgrain Sharecroppers
Creature - Kithkin (R)
Whenever a player plays a land, exile it face-up with a share counter on it.
Cards in exile with share counters on them have "At the beginning of each player's first main phase, if they own this card they put it onto the battlefield under their control. Otherwise they add ."

"We lost our banner and were routed. Then, the rearguard arrived, breaking suddenly enemy's charge. I don't know how, but the next thing I remember was holding a bloodied pike I lost at the beginning of battle, standing in line amongst our saviours."

Resonant Phoenix
Creature — Phoenix (Rare)
Flying, haste
Whenever Resonant Phoenix deals combat damage to a player, exile the top card of your library with a feather counter on it. Until end of turn, you may cast that card.
Whenever a player casts a spell that shares a name with a card you own in exile with a feather counter on it, you may return Resonant Phoenix from your graveyard to the battlefield.

Floral Burgeoning
Sorcery (R)
Search your library for a creature card and exile it with a blossom counter on it. For as long as it remains exiled, at the beginning of your upkeep, put a blossom counter on that card. You may cast that card from exile. It costs less to cast or gains "This creature enters the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it" for each blossom counter you remove as you cast it.
Thus Molimo arose more sagacious than ever.
