I have two versions of this card, and foremost is if this even works beyond being a rules nightmare

Debtdealer ver. 1 BB
Creature - Human Rogue (R)
Protection from Demons
Whenever a triggered ability of a Demon you control triggers, you may have target opponent gain control of it. They choose new targets for it.
2/3

Debtdealer ver. 2 BB
Creature - Human Rogue (R)
Protection from Demons
If a triggered ability of a Demon you control would trigger, you may have it trigger for an opponent instead.
2/3

If either of these function, then the next questions involve...
Rakdos the Defiler. Could an opponent be forced to eat the attack trigger?

For cards like Spawn of Mayhem, would I be able to use the opponent to get a counter on it if they have low enough life?

You definitely want it to be a replacement effect not its own trigger so your Ver. 2 is best. It also appears completely functional.

Yes, such an effect would force Rakdos's trigger on to the opponent forcing them to sacrifice half their permanents on his being declared an attacker. On a related note, such an effect definitely shouldn't be a may. This plays into the entire deal with the devil troupe that is being used and can force some unpleasantness onto making it not a freeroll.

Yes for Spawn as well. The 'you' in the trigger is its controller and nothing prevents your opponents from putting counters on your creatures.

@Ink-Treader the first wording works. It only needs an "If you do" clause at the end.
