About
Novem is a primal world ruled by great beasts, but the peoples are learning to work together and combine tools and magic to become masters over the wilds.
Founding of Novem wants to explore the idea of "man vs. nature" conflict by choosing the setting of a world where larger interconnected civilizations are at the verge of rising out of tribal communities.
For starters I want to brainstorm concepts of survival and interesting cards and mechanics to bring them into Magic.
Concepts
- founding of civilizations of all colors
- primal flora/fauna
- hunters and gatherers
- migration
- coexisting with nature vs. subjugating nature
- agriculture/Cultivation/husbandry
- roles in society
- "homes": caves, walled villages, tree houses, rafts
- wear & tear & scars/wounds (-1/-1 counters?)
- Disease/Health
- Weather/Disaster
- Cooperation
- Hunt (Create a Food token if a dying creature was damaged by a hunter you control.)
- Whenever this creature attacks, it may gather +1/+1. (To gather, either gain , or pay to put a +1/+1 counter on this.)
As this is not purely multiplayer, I'm thinking more surge and less assist.
