Welcome to the Card Creation League! Everyone is free to participate in either or both of the first two rounds. Come join us!

Theme

It's Anticipation Month here at the CCL! We currently know an unprecedented amount about upcoming major Standard-legal Magic sets, so each round this month will be loosely inspired by one of those sets.

The set corresponding with the final round is the return to Tarkir. The promise for this set is the best of both the khan and dragon timelines of this plane. So with that in mind...

Challenge

Design five legendary creature cards all with different color identities. Two must be Elder Dragons with allied two-color identities. Two must be non-Dragons with enemy three-color identities. The last is your choice of either of these.

• In other words, you'll make either three Elder Dragons and two non-Dragons or two Elder Dragons and three non-Dragons.
• Each of your Elder Dragon cards must have one of the following color identities: GW, WU, UB, BR, RG.
• Each of your non-Dragon cards must have one of the following color identities: WBG, URW, BGU, RWB, GUR.
• Make sure to include a rarity.

• Rounds 1 and 2 Critiques (Due March 19th)
• Top 8 — Open to top 8 finishers (March 22nd - 25th)
• Top 8 Critiques (Due March 27th)
• Top 5 — Open to top 4 finishers (March 31st - April 3rd)
• Top 5 Critiques (Due April 5th)
• Final (April, winner determined by public poll)

For this month we will continue asking first and second round contestants to evaluate six other contestants during the critique and top 3 period, in order to increase the total number of evaluations each contestant gets.

Legendary Creature — Elder Dragon (M)

At the beginning of each upkeep, create a 1/1 red Devil creature token with "When this creature dies, it deals 1 damage to any target."
: If opponents lost ten or more life this turn, untap all creatures you control. After this phase, there is an additional combat phase, followed by an additional main phase. Activate only once each turn and only as a sorcery.

Legendary Creature — Elder Dragon (M)
Flying, vigilance
At the beginning of combat on opponent's turn, you may choose two. Each mode must target a different player.
• Target player creates two 0/1 colorless Reflection creature tokens.
• Target player scry X and gains X life, where X is the number of untapped creatures they control.
• Target player puts a stun counter on each creature they control and draws a card.

Whenever Velomachus Loremulch deals combat damage to a player, mill 7. Then you may cast an enchantment or sorcery spell with mana value less than or equal to damage dealt by Velomachus to opponent this combat from your graveyard without paying its mana cost.

Whenever one or more creatures you control die or one or more creature cards are put into your graveyard, untap target creature you control. It gets +1/+0 and gains vigilance until end of turn.
