Really not sure how this one works with the contest, but it's solid mechanically, at least. Why is a spirit an enchantment?
There's a sitcom trope of the family gathering for winter celebrations and getting into fights. It's not a Spirit spirit. It's just, you know, getting into the winter spirit.

The entry requires two cards, one Host, one with Augment.

Nasty [] Nepenthes Monster, Noya
2{B}{G}{U}
Host [] Creature - Plant <[Legendary]
When this creature enters the battlefield, at random
========================================
choose one:
-Create Lush Pitcher-Plant, a 2/3 green Plant host creature token with "When this creature enters the battlefield, create a 1/1 green Saproling creature token."
-Create Garden Slug, a 1/5 black Slug host creature token with "When this creature enters the battlefield, exile target card from a graveyard. You gain 1 life."
-Create [Slimy], a blue +1/+1 blue Salamander creature token with hexproof, augment, and "[, Discard a card:]", then combine it with a host.
2/3

Note 1: I decided to make it random otherwise the optimal play every time is to choose [Slimy] first to give Noya hexproof.

Note 2: The art would be the inverse of other host creatures; Noya's "head" (or whatever passes for a front end) would be to the right, while its posterior pokes through the portal on the left. So adding any augment card gives the impression of a two-headed monster.

Note 3: Once Noya is augmented, the ability is no longer random, as that text would be covered up by the augment half.

Fuzzy [] Gurnard Lionfish
1u
Host Creature - Fish (C)
When this creature enters the battlefield, [] tap target creature.
2/1
====Back====
Argonaut
Creature - Octopus (C)
Whenever you cast your second spell each turn, this creature gets +1/+0 until end of turn and can't be blocked this turn. Then []
Augment
+0/+1

Note: The above is an MDFC

Propagating [] Pitcher-Plant
3gg
Host Creature - Plant (U)
When this creature enters the battlefield, [] if this creature is not a token, create a token that is a copy of it. Otherwise create a 1/1 green Saproling creature token.
2/2

Frostfire
Creature - Weird (R)
Prowess
Whenever you cast an instant or sorcery spell, []
Augment 2ur
+3/+1

void_nothing is saying that, in the example you gave (Cynthia really showed some spirit), "spirit" is still being used as a noun not a verb. In spacemonaut's card, "spirit" is also being used as a noun. In both cases, "spirit" is not being used as a verb.

He's not denying that it can be a verb. He even gave an example of "spirit" being used as a verb on a MtG card.

Hope this clears that up.

I like these. Gummi Wyrm made me smile. Grotesque Two-Headed is just why I can't be trusted to draft successfully because I'm always taking cards like this. You're missing rarity, and you forgot to insert the food ability, which I'm assuming is the standard one from the food tokens.

Eat your heart out, Yavimaya Sapherd. Disorienting is very good.

This is a very tough mechanic to design, and I appreciate everyone who made the attempt. I've got to go with Juancu for a fully-realized card that made me laugh. A well-edited entry. (I value that, it's in my sn!)

Well done, everyone, for submitting cards to this weird challenge.

Thank you! But did you notice that Propagating [] Pitcher-Plant, once it gets augmented, produces a token copy of the whole combined/merged creature? ;) Like if you slap Frostfire onto Propagating [] Pitcher-Plant and trigger its ability, it produces a token copy of its new self, a 5/3 blue, red and green Weird Plant named Frostfire Pitcher-Plant that can produce Saproling tokens.

Plus when the un-augmented Propagating [] Pitcher-Plant first enters the battlefield, you get two hosts to play with (since the token is also a host).

Yeah, I didn't want to type out the food ability, so the parenthesis are supposed to stand in for it.

If other people go for YA tropes, I'm gonna just pull examples from actual YA books that I like to read.

Ra'zac Assassin 3BB
Creature - Insect Assassin [r]
Ward 4, First Strike
Whenever an ability from a human creature is triggered or activated, counter that ability unless its controller pays 1
Natural predators of Humans, the Ra'zac have a breath that fogs the mind of humans, and their own minds cannot be sensed. In the years they have worked for the king, he has placed many wards over them, to protect them from all manner of magical attacks.
4/4

Lethrblaka, terror of the night 5BB
Creature - Insect Horror (R)
Flying, Menace, Ward 4
Whenever Lethrblaka, terror of the night attacks, creatures your opponents control get -2/-0.
When a Ra'zac reaches an age of 20, on the first full moon of that year, they molt, growing giant wings and leaping into the night, ready to hunt all manner of creatures.

Excellent flavor, I love it. Only tiny problem I see, is that a zombie is supposed to be like dead-alive, and this is always dead, so why zombie? This could have more backstory, maybe like make them do an heroic sacrifice for value.

I'm not a fan of Eragon, I remember borrowing it from my sister when it was popular, and feeling quite underwhelmed, then she told me the author was 15, and I was like "Oh, super cool... mm, that feels like it explains a lot, though."
I like Ra'zac, it could be interesting in some metas.

I hated seeing Detention Vortex as an "uncommon removal in my colors" even if I was super aggro, and this is more expensive and color restrictive, can end on its own, and gives them Etb triggers too (although removes the immediate attack, unless Haste.) I'd give it "Draw a card" and it may be fair.

Haha, I love this pair, this should totally be a concept in an UN set. Only note is that they'd be legendaries, as people would riot at not being able to commander them. About them getting together, that's a great comeuppance for Stella (you go boys!) but I'd start by going full trope, before flipping it up in a revisit. (Basically, I really want these two to hate each other first.) About partnering then, how about making a mechanic like "Friends Forever" that is just mechanically Partner, but called "Rivals for Love."

Very funny, you could even turn this into a functional card, a beauty that enters with a glasses counter, and removes it to become more powerful but less intelligent.
