I like this! It's a pretty generic category of things, but just enough that you could imagine a set with a variety of artifact types in it. I do wonder what the ceiling on that is.... Three? Hm. I'm going to move on before I think too hard about this one.

"While playtesting earlier versions of this card, we found that games were slowing down to an unreasonable degree. Players with Master in their deck would be overly cautious and do nothing but play lands for multiple turns so that they would be able to protect themselves from opposing Masters. We determined this was an unhealthy play pattern—players don't like it when they can't play the game, and spectators found it excruciating to watch. The answer ended up being surprisingly simple: Make the card uncounterable. Games sped up and became a lot more exciting to watch once it wasn't a matter of who had the last Master on the stack, but rather who could play the first.

IIW: A card or mechanic with some risk/reward payoff. Bonus points if you can make it at common.
