Grixis Control is a Blue-Black-Red control deck primarily based around utilizing Baleful Strix to overwhelm creature-based decks. Strix drawing a card upon entering the battlefield and having deathtouch and flying allows it to frequently trade for two cards in any matchup dependent on winning via the combat step. Kolaghan's Command can then be used to recur the Strix while putting the player up another card, and Snapcaster Mage flashes back Kolaghan's Command, creating a devastating stream of value. Supporting this core is the typical array of cantrips like Brainstorm and Ponder, discard like Hymn to Tourach, Thoughtseize, and Inquisition of Kozilek, and removal like Lightning Bolt, Fatal Push, Angrath's Rampage, and Liliana's Triumph. Planeswalkers like Jace, the Mind Sculptor, Narset, Parter of Veils, Liliana, the Last Hope, and Liliana of the Veil round out the list, and for closers, True-Name Nemesis and Gurmag Angler do the job when little dudes beatdown or Jace's ultimate can't.
