Ladies and gentlemen,

I think it is about time to start the random card of the day thread here on Nexus. Those of you coming from Salvation should know of the long tradition of the random card of the day in Casual. If you want proof that the tradition started long ago, all you need to do is compare the date the thread on Casual was created to the random card threads of the other formats.

If you compare the casual thread on Salvation to the ones for the other formats, it may seem like the Casual thread picks bad cards more often than the other threads. I can't speak for the other formats, but the Casual random card of the day is truly random. I don't retry if I pick a bad card. Since casual players are known for making bad cards work, I don't think they should be omitted. The only card types the I don't include are basic lands, conspiracy cards and Planechase cards.

Every weekday, I will add a random card of the day on Salvation and add one here. The card added on Salvation will not be the same card added on Nexus. Whenever I add a random card of the day, you are welcome to add a comment, combo or decklist involving the card.

Even though today is Saturday, I'll go ahead and do the first card: Transluminant

There's a few cards that care about creatures ETB or dying and it also might fit in a "White Spirits matter" deck that isn't mono-W.

I have a CMC matters EDH deck that uses cards like this one. I activate my Mindshrieker and reveal this card, the Mindshrieker gets +9/+9 until end of turn.

Could be fun with guessing games cards, like Cabal Therapy and or Isperia the Inscrutable. Over its alternatives (Telepathy, for example) It's very efficient, colour agnostic and could be part of a Trinket Mage toolbox.

I like it.
