Introduction
Welcome to quite possibly the "Fairest Deck" in modern, welcome to Mono Green Stompy.
Its not the fastest of decks compared to other linear aggressive strategies in the format such as infect, affinity, or dredge, but its mix of resilience, evasiveness , explosiveness, and slight innate graveyard hate make it viable in the format.
Aspect of Hydra is the card that the deck is built around, in a fast paced format such as modern, this card is what punishes opponents who stumble, and at times is your only hope of closing out a game before the door closes on you. Don't worry the effort of doing so also rewards with additional competitive benefits.

It demands that most of most of its creature are fully devoted to in their mana cost. They in turn are generally more resilient and superior blockers than the creatures they face, giving the deck a better battlefield presence vs other aggressive strategies.

The heavy demand for mana skews the mana base to be mostly comprised of pain free, basic forests further providing a life point advantage vs opponents. Additionaly it help insulate against common land disruption present the the metagame such as Field of Ruin, Blood Moon, Ghost Quarter.

Yorvo looks solid for our deck. Reasonable cost, and uses +1/+1 counters which means he has synergy with avatar.

Too bad he's legendary. Might be good at least as a one-of, replacing a steel leaf or a baloth for those still using baloths.

Yeah, the set's been pretty good for the deck in terms of potential options. Turns out that tends to happen when mono colour becomes the focus.

How's Hardened Scales sounding? The current MTGS consensus list runs Barkhide Troll, so it seems like the deck's going deeper and deeper into counter land.

going be testing Sry Faren as a 2-of when the set becomes available. On mtgs, Amicdeep posted a scenario where this guy can do some really fast kills. He's legendary, so two is the highest I would run.

Hardened scales? The I think this is still no good for the deck. Can be tested though..
