When (not) to run Back to Basics | Blood Moon | Hall of Gemstone?

Where do you stand in this matter?

I don't want to see/run them ever.

I think they are fair in pods with problematic lands, somewhat detached of tiers.

I'm always for these. Mono color decks are my jam, and while I don't play any of them personally, these help me share that joy with everyone! We should all drop colors, save deck slots wasted on mana fixing.

@the argument that this punishes jank alongside powerful manabases: collateral damage is basically mana-denial's middle name as a mechnaic anyway, but I really don't think Jank is sacrosanct; if it gets punished by this when bigger offenders must also be stopped, so be it. Multicolor has a cost, this be it. I'd like there to be more surgical approaches if possible, but c'est la vie, they printed these. Anyway, I'm usually packing 25+ basics per deck, so why should I care? They don't usually affect me in any meaningful way and I didn't bring them to the potluck.
There's no biscuits and gravy in New Zealand.
(Except when DirkGently makes them!)
