But this is colorless.

I love this card to death, but haven't played it in forever. I used to have very slow mono-white control piles that would try and grind out games with this, Evangelize, and other value cards.
I should probably be playing this in miraculous Kaalia, tbh. It's nice to be able to "draw" a plains fetch and it does provide extra shuffles, which is an effect I value here. It's certainly not the worst thing I could be doing.Sinis wrote: ↑4 years agoI love this card to death, but haven't played it in forever. Part of me misses how primitive decks were back in the early days of EDH.
I feel like this one has aged badly. Someone mentioned Duelist's Heritage. Even something like Blood Mist is easily accessed/cheap and doesn't have equip costs. For practical purposes, I don't really think about Fireshrieker anymore. Inquisitor's Flail, on the other hand...
It's the general purpose, more obvious way to grant double strike to a target, unconditionally, and consistently. Whether that's worth it at the same playquip cost as a Sword however, is another case entirely.
This card feels pretty good, but I don't know what everyone is doing with it to make it feel *great*.
High tide combo decks, typically.
