Nyx Lotus seems like it could be VERY powerful in the right deck.
Keep in mind it enters tapped, so everyone sees your devotion and the writing on the wall a turn ahead of time. I still haven't decided if I like it without some untap effects.

It's also just an awful rock if you can't get and sustain high devotion.

Oh man, Haktos is too funny. Love that flavor.

Seems like a plausible voltron option, although it'll sometimes have pro-swords or pro-jitte or what have you, so that's pretty awkward. With multiple opponents to attack and good removal colors, though, you can probably find somewhere safe to attack.

What is the interaction?
If i understand the cards and interaction correctly and and i may be wrong here, but Doubling Cube would double what you get from Nyx Lotus

Okay. That's any mana rock. Or creature. Or land.

Anyway, Siona seems terrific. Bummed she combos so easily with Shielded by Faith...which she quickly digs for...

Siona seems pretty darn fun, and go-wide enchantress is certainly a bit of different direction. Now to decide if I want to build her cause I already have two enchantress decks... in Boros and Golgari, so can't just put her in one either.

Would probably leave Shielded by Faith out of the deck tho.

Haktos is really cool, but so not suited to voltron. In RW, there are no pumps/equipment/enchantments that you can run that won't fail 67% of the time.

Legion's Initiative seems like a good card - can pump to 7 power, can blink it, can 'counter' a removal spell, can reset the number.

I just find you end up building this like Tajic, Blade of the Legion - you have this aggressive commander that makes your boardwipes kinda one-sided.

Maybe a good RW goodstuff commander ? Not much to build around, a solid clock...

For some reason in my head I was thinking it was 33% instead of 67%. Whoops. Yeah pretty terrible with equipment.

Can't use the destroy boardwipes, but I guess he works pretty well with earthquake variants. Creatures-punch-themselves (I think there's only 2 of those though) work as long as he's not on 4.

He does really need that one extra point of power. I'd probably look for the easiest, cheapest way to give it to him - something like cathedral of war would be a very low-commitment way to speed up his clock, although it doesn't jive well with his mana cost. Ideally you'd either have a signet, or play the cathedral the turn after you play him so you don't slow him down.

Haktos feels like a miniature progenitus, and I think that's pretty freaking neato.

He probably fits best as an inevitability engine thanks to his fast clock, hard-to-kill-ness, and low cost. I'd say the two things he really needs to fulfill that role are:

- 7 power to make him a three turn clock,

- haste to allow him to shrug off getting wiped and to fully utilize his low cost by being able to come out every turn in the endgame and still demand an answer.

There are lots of ways to boost damage that don't require equipment, auras, or targeting at all. Haktos the Unscarred already starts off at least at a 4 turn clock, easily gets to a 3 turn clock, and is very difficult to stop. He's immune to most spot removal in any given game, and some forms of mass removal. He's got built in powerful evasion, and tokens can't block him.

I don't find him particularly exciting, if only because most games with him in it will play out almost the same.

He's already at 6 power, so it doesn't take a lot to get him to the 7 you need for a 3 hit clock, especially with his protection already making him hard to block. Even only getting 1/3 of equipment on him is enough, especially when you run equipment tutors like stoneforge mystic, Open the Vaults, or Godo, bandit warlord - then you can specifically grab the one piece of equipment you need, and happily go to town.

Even without that, there's plenty of non-targeted power boosting effects, especially in r/w. There's a host of other abilities that can probably make the list, but the short of it is that it doesn't take much to get him to the kill zone potential, and he's hard to stop. Some of my examples are likely niche, but it gives a place to start and tailor from. I'm sure a more in depth search can yield better results.

This feels like a serious mistake to me for EDH. Should create a renaissance of annoying land themed decks. I love it!

Glad I saved my second copy of coffers because now I need to rebuild a coffers deck. It really, really always wanted another exploration effect and one that enables coffers is just ridiculously nice.

My MW deck needs one as well.

And I'm kinda interested in making a valakut deck with it now :P

Lot of cool cards today!
Gravebreaker Lamia will surely enter in my Karador. I bet it's also good for Mudrotha
Elysian Grove Dryad is a worse but more budget oracle of mul daya and a better prismatic omen
Hydra's Growth will be playable in many +1/+1 counters generals, especially the new Polukranos

I wanna combo Archon of Sun's Grace with Enduring ideal along with a token doubler just to see how many I can get before it's killed...

The new Archon goes infinite with Enchanted Evening, though you'll need a way to stop the chain as it is not a may ability. Should be fun for my enchantress deck regardless.

definitely gonna playt hat titan in maelstrom wanderer. Really sweet design. Kinda want to make its own deck, as 3 mana ramp spell+CA in the CZ is really rather powerful design space for a lands deck.

Lots of legends, and lots of infinite combos?

Hm... This set is really getting the "Commander Year" started.

It's kinda funny how sometimes a bit of thought on a commander reveals some hidden depth to the design. Upon seeing Ice Cream Monk I was pretty sure she's in contention for worst simic legend ever, and would make for a good excuse to rip up my unplayed merfolk deck and repurpose some of the enchantments. One plane ride's worth of brainstorming later, this is essentially going to be Cloudstone Curio.dec, with tons of cheap utility enchantments, all the enchantresses I can reach, some choice high-end haymaking in Willbreaker, Cowardice and Dismiss Into Dream (notice Flavour Town doesn't say "you control"), and likely win via voltron damage or Gyre Sage-like body with stacked counters plus Staff of Domination. A bit of consideration turned a thing I was afraid was going to be too bad to ever do anything into something that might actually get rejected by my group.

Kiora Bests the Sea God sounds like fun if you can get all three, now i'm tempted to redo my enduring ideal deck with a few Sagas.....

Yeah, I've got quite a few decks its is going to slot into.

Both fixing for colors and the way you can make cards that rely on land types is really great, and then the additional land of course is busted in many of my builds. You know when Wayward Swordtooth is "good enough" in some decks, that Elysia Grove Dryad is going to be excellent.

I often have deck where doubling mana card can get compromised by off color lands. Caged Sun, Nissa, Who Shakes the World, Vernal Bloom, Keeper of Progenitus.

Decks that have Crypt Ghast and Nirkana Revenant and maybe even Bubbling Muck.

Even in my Patron of the Orochi mono green deck has some colorless utility lands that can be turned into forests, and I certainly play all the additional land cards as it's a big draw deck.

High Tide decks normally don't run outside of mono-blue, but there could be a case for a simic build to run it now.

I very much like Kiora Bests the Sea God though I will run it in a Thassa, Deep-Dwelling deck I'm working on. Utilizing Sentinel of the Pearl Trident and The Mirari Conjecture.

I mean Uro, Titan of Nature's Wrath is NO Chulane, Teller of Tales when it comes to Growth Spiral effects.

It's a lot of deck you have to dedicate to meeting the escape requirements, so I just feel like Uro isn't going to quite cut it in the world of commander when it comes to efficiency.
To turn it into Voltron, you have to dedicate more cards to evasion/trample, and then even with the 6 power you want further cards to help with +1/+1 buffs so that it's 3 attacks instead of 4 to kill an opponent.

Having built a Polukranos, Unchained deck, I understand the dedication to the escape ability and voltron elements. He at least doesn't require the sacrifice on cast.

Is the Growth Spiral each turn worth what you have to put into the rest of the deck? It's going to be rough going in my opinion.

In the Command Zone? Probably not. I don't think Uro is going to make waves as a commander, but I think I want to play him in my Tatyova deck, probably as a replacement for Rampaging Baloths. Filling my graveyard with that deck isn't all that hard.
