As much fun as most of the info is, it probably doesn't really give us any real info...except the cycle thing. I'm trying to think about what it might be. So far my best guess is that they're going to create a land cycle for one of the other future sight duals. They've already done filter lands and canopy lands, which leaves...
grove seems like a bit of a stretch given how much trouble it's caused in modern. Making a complete cycle would likely limit their ability to print things that care about enemy lifegain in the future. River of tears would be very cool, but it is a weird cycle since it's asymmetric. So my best guess is a nimbus maze cycle.

EDIT: other (less exciting) possibilities:

refuges
panoramas
obelisks
ultimatums
hatchlings
hedge mages
mimics
witches
storage lands

12 different types of counters supports the hypothesis that we'll be getting keyword/ability counters, likely tied to the Mutate mechanic. See Recycla-bird. Granting miscellaneous keywords is roughly equivalent to auras, which makes me not expect it to be super-impactful in EDH, but could be interesting.

Personally, I'm super excited for Otter to be a creature type. There's been some hypothesizing on Blogatog re: each color's characteristic rodent, so will be cool to fill that out. (white = mouse, black = rat, green = squirrel, blue = otter, red = ???)

Also, squirrel! And brushwagg! :o

Largest aura until now I assume to be Eldrazi Conscription (ignoring scaling ones), so may be interesting to cheat out the new one.

Foreshadow counters intrigue me.

If we're getting a new land cycles, no complaints... but I really hope it will be enemy colored. 'Start a land cycle with enemy colors' is also something that has probably been requested for a decade.

I am 100% expecting it to have the words "if an opponent controls more lands than you, you may search your library for a Plains card, put it onto the battlefield, then shuffle your library."
Rules text - "You and planeswalkers you control gain protection from that player."
Please be in Izzet colors for my Will & Rowan Kenrith Superfriends deck, but I suspect it will be White. However True-Name Nemesis is blue...

All you probably need to do is sacrifice all your lands...

Likely correct. Please be an enchantment for, uh, no particular reason at all :P

I don't feel Gavin deserves a vanity card like this quite yet. BBD was nice, but the precons took a nosedive under his watch and only shakily undid the tailspin a little bit last year.

Anything mroe than and it is basically a better land tax at least as for mono-w is considered.

And there's the card that see legacy play and cause that deck to quickly disappear and shoot up in price.

If they finally make an asymmetric Oath of Lieges, I would be extremely happy. Smothering Tithe was a good start, but white still needs more options.

I'm neutral on Trilobites, but Cat Nightmare and Goat Hydra sound sweet. Always a fan of more goats for Springjack Pasture.

I assume that "You and planeswalkers you control gain protection from that player" will be a one-shot protective spell like Teferi's Protection. Having that as an ongoing ability seems.... very powerful, if only for the damage prevention.

Halflings and Hobbits are overpowered. Just look at the free mithril shirt Frodo got at the beginning of his rpg campaign.

It was an heirloom from an older character
Aragorn on the other side got a huge P2W sword just because he was a friend with Rivendell's mod

Just a quick note, try to keep Lutri discussion in the official thread a the top of this forum. I know it's a lot to take in, but it'll help Cryo and myself to keep an eye on the conversation if it's all happening in one place.

I'm thrilled by the return of cycling in Ikoria. I'd finally settled on Jodah, Archmage Eternal as my cycling general & huge beasts with cycling are perfect fit for that deck. Gavi, Nest Warden probably gets a spot. Drannith Stinger definitely does.

I'll hold final judgment until I actually see how the cards play, but I really don't like the look of the new mechanics here. Ability tokens feel like a lot of potential bookkeeping headaches and mutate feels unwieldy with the number of cards stacked (particularly when some of the ones we're likely to see in this format encourage repeatedly mutating a single creature). Both of those and companion feel like they're better suited for a digital game than a paper one, which is in line with how WotC seems to be managing the game. My instinctive response is that they're going to be clunky when you sit down at the LGS for a game.

If it stays to evergreen keywords, I don't think it's too bad. I'll probably start adding a few glass beads to my dice bag for it - black for deathtouch, white for lifelink, etc. If you're playing the mechanic, you're likely going to be prepared for it.

I had a similar issue when I first started playing Riku of two reflections. I usually just stacked the 'tokens' next to or behind the base creature, but then one game someone cast Hour of Reckoning and suddenly it was a nightmare to go "This coin was a solemn simulacrum and this one was this elf, and the paperclip was a hellrider, and what was this dice again?" After that, I printed out two tokens of every creature in my deck so that kind of confusion never happened again with that deck.

These days I keep blank cardstock and a sharpie with me:

That's kind of my point. Even if I don't play anything with the mechanic, having someone across the table representing a dozen keyword abilities with different colored glass beads means I need to be aware of how they're tracking it and remember it, or constantly ask about their board state rather than understand with a glance. It's worse if the person across the table doesn't have a consistent system, or if it's different from the one you're used to. Commander board states are already complex and increasing the number of types of counters you can see in a game by an order of magnitude significantly adds to that complexity. We're also getting a powerful general using the ability in the precons, Kathril, Aspect Warper, which more or less guarantees that it's going to be a regular feature at tables for a while.

Mutate is more in line with auras and equipment in terms of bookeeping, which isn't as bad. My only real concern there is the strong incentive to repeatedly mutate one creature to take advantage of abilities that trigger on mutation, something that's potentially annoying to track depending on the complexity of the abilities involved. I'm guessing that it's going to play similarly to voltron in reality. Either the creature gets removed before it's truly problematic (most common) or it snowballs into enough advantage that the complete list of abilities is less relevant.

There are certainly ways to track it and it's not going to be bad if you're the one playing the deck, at least after a couple games. I'll withhold judgment until the comprehensive rules are updated and I see how things actually play. I still can't shake the feeling that these all feel like abilities designed for a digital platform that were translated into paper rather than the other way around, which I think is a first and something I'm not thrilled about.

On a first glance I find the Companion mechanic a totally unecessary new layer of complexity (as I wrote in the rules post). Some of the mutate cards are cool but the mechanic itself is a little.. clunky? Can you treat it like an aura, like an equipment, like something that blinks (if you mutate many times)? Will be terrible when trying to track creatures in 4 player pods.
