Eleven, the Mage and Mike, the Dungeon Master are the first partner combination to cover all 5 colors.

Will these cards actually have partner? Or this weird ability?
Mirri, Cat Warrior counts as a Cat Warrior.

It's partner by a different name, but you can't mix and match commanders with partner and friends forever. Officially, anyway.
Can you name all of the creature types with at least 20 cards? Try my Sporcle Quiz! Last Updated: 2/18/22 (Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty)

I had a hard-ish time with the Walking Dead Secret Lair, but here, for whatever reason, I am really disliking this. I don't want to have to tap Gandalf to crew my DeLorean so I can put my Mandalorian from the graveyard to the battlefield in order to summon Benito Mussolini, and the Blue Meanie, and Cowboy Curtis and Jambi the Genie, Bill S. Preston and Theodore Logan, Spock, the Rock, Dock Ock, and Hulk Hogan. And it's just starting to feel a little like that when I see this stuff.
But the possibilities are endless:

I might actually buy this. If the art was good.

The style of vintage cereal boxes would be perfect IMO.

The real question is whether Tony Tiger is Arahbo, Jedit Ojanen or Lord Windgrace.

For the record, they aren't legit.

But these are.

Eh. Theres nothing really chase enough to be celebrated, and tbh this kind of just walks back some of the crappiness of the pay to play arrangement from earlier. Which is fine, but I think its more of a gesture than proof of a changed marketing scheme.

Yeah seems very intentional:

1) They're a couple in-universe
2) They're the "main" characters among the ensemble (loosely)
3) It makes sure someone who buys the box will be able to play them all in the same commander deck - Mike and Eleven at the helm, the rest in the '99.

Also glad for the news about TWD. I think Daryl sounds like a neat commander but would prefer Magic-branded art.

Honestly a bit disappointed with the new Olivia. With her stats and mana cost any flying blocker will almost certainly out mass her, and the revival target exiles when she dies.

Cool idea, but weak execution.

Only if you don't run *any* other legendary vampires. Or, for that matter, just revive a Legendary Vampire. It also seems unlikely that *every* opponent will have a 4/4 flying blocker, so you can just direct her towards open opponents.

Like I said, cool idea, weak execution. Or at least weaker execution than I'd have strictly liked at 6 Mana. 6 Mana is a LOT after all.

Kinda disappointed with what the blood token does. I understand they made it that way because it played well and fulfilled the needs of the set, but still I feel it would have been more flavorful to have it drain 1 life (an opponent loses 1 life and you gain 1 life)

Yeah, it feels like a letdown flavorfully. Also, I'm frustrated with how parasitic they seem to make it. All the outlets are "whenever you sacrifice a Blood token" or "sacrifice a Blood token: X". I can't imagine they'll be used after this set, given how awkward their flavor is and how close they are to Clues, so why not let them work with Clues, Food and Treasure? I doubt they'd break anything, and it would allow some more interesting casual decks.

All the parasitism (hah!) could be overlooked if they weren't so similar to Clues. I really don't see them coming back in a Modern Horizons type set, for example.

I think you're heavily underestimating the power level difference between Clues and Blood Tokens. The gulf between Looting and Drawing a card is pretty huge. We're already seeing that Blood Tokens can be costed more efficiently than clues in terms of the cards that generate them. They're going to play out *very* differently than clue tokens, I think.

blood and clues have different niches. i will definitely use blood more cause many of my decks are gravebased and it helps fill my yard.
