On the topic of complaining about life, all the managers a level above my level were fired today at work. So that's gonna be fun.

He said, his (online) voice thick like sarcastic vegemite.

A whole lot of responsibility you didn't sign up for? That sucks. Also, must've been something pretty bad to fire a whole management level.

Also also, Marmite > Vegemite.

I'm only a month into management myself, I'm still learning some things. Now most of the people who know said things aren't there. Managers from other locations are being brought in for the time being, and it seems like the start of every month is gonna have some new bombshell of FML. Grumble grumble.

Haven't had either, so... /shrug

Fair enough. Based on knowing what they are I'd have assumed you'd tried, but very much a commonwealth spread - only available in Britain, Australia, New Zealand.

For anyone interested in Vegemite/Marmite, a little dab'll do ya.

toc: Rather a fan of Yahtzee, of ZP fame. Quoting him from a video back in the day.

ISB: One year down with the current company, here's hoping to more than that.

Hearing all these full-sized grown up stories, I consider myself lucky to only be entangled in miniature versions of them right now.
My current potpourri of emotions consists of anger - since my search for a new flat has been dragging on for months now - content - since work and university go along pretty effortlessly at the moment - excitement and exhaustion from sleep deprivation, both caused by this wonderful new woman in my life.
Why are we on this board again? Ah, playing cards - I don't do that too often lately. :D

I feel that. I don't think I've played at all in the last month and a half. Combination of work, general scheduling problems with the rest of my group, and various other life things. I have been playing a lot of DnD, so plenty of nerd socializing is still afoot and there's a lot of overlap with the MtG group anyways.

My regular group hadn't been able to play Commander since May [RL stuff for all of us]. We played this last weekend and there was definitely some rustiness, the game going over 2 hours. They sounded like they were becoming more disenchanted with Commander, wanting shorter games. I could offer some house-rule options to quicken games, but it's not going to have much effect when the main bottleneck is the length of their turns. :\

Its been 5 weeks since I last got to play commander. I did manage to show up for pre release during a vacation trip but other than that a combination of being sick, on vacation, busy at work, and last night snowing has kept me from playing for several weeks.

I have gotten something like 6-8 inches of snow since yesterday :(

I got in my first full game in like a month last night. Getting the house you're currently living in ready for sale is hard work. Combine that with work being busy and it just hasn't happened.

I don't necessarily mind, it means the games you do have you enjoy more. It's a struggle for me anyway - my LGS is 20km away so most of my games are online and quality/level of toxicity is variable to say the least. At least it gives you thick skin and you learn to prepare for more or less anything.

I get games in about once a week, mainly 1v1 at the moment with the odd multiplayer here and there. Got a new job that's taken me away from my regular multiplayer night.

We could get a thing going on Cockatrice maybe? I mean time zones are a thing, but voice chats come on a long way since the last time I tried it.

Should be easy enough to do, just form a dedicated Discord and toss it into a sticky thread.

Prediction: "Mystery boosters" are actually a new run of boosters from sets of Magic past, only with foils and premiums, designed for chaos drafting.

I feel bad for the person who pays $25 for a foil Ebon Praetor when they open a mystery pack of Fallen Empires.

Probably something broken that he knows he'll have to ban eventually.

Timely, considering the latest Oathbreaker unbanning.

My Titania rework has been taking a while, but I'm down to 102 cards. Sadly for my inner Timmy, Worldspine Wurm is possibly on the cutting block. I like me my beefy beats, but he's just not making much sense in the deck, even as a bit of a pet card. Inner Timmy is :(

So has anyone played against any of the new brawl guys yet? I haven't got my Korvold sorted yet, but I've played against Chulane a couple of times.

Have to say....the prevalent plan for Chulane is kinda boring. Seems to be spam Shrieking Drake, combo out with Aluren/Laboratory Maniac, or chew through the deck and machine gun with Walking Ballista. Doesn't even seem a lot of fun to pilot. I'd love to see someone do a different thing with him.

Just said to someone else that by the time you see what I'm working on, you'll probably have forgotten that I worked on it. :P

That's one reason my interest in making a deck around him wanted by the time he was actually released.
