Yeah, I'm kind of wishing I'd gotten one before things went crazy. Ah well.

UK lockdown! Multiple weeks late, but it's something!

"Image"

In case anyone's spooked by this, or the perspective of this happening in your neck of the woods, it's really not that bad. You can still go shopping, and are even granted the power to go outside to exercise. Formal definition here.

In other bright news, I braved the local supermarket at 3pm today. It seems to be calming down. There were fewer people, there was even some toilet paper around :P The reported Wuhan panic buying spree of ~2 weeks seems to have largely transferred here too. Things are returning to normal, shop wise, kind of. Now just gotta do our part and wait this out.

Not just non-essential services, but also LGSs are closed.

ba-dum tssh.

And I just built 2 new decks too. Blerg.
Yep, literally picked the last of my pieces up for Purphoros 2.0 today. I'm a little worried about my LGS, but hopefully there's enough subsidy in place to keep him going. He has an online store too, so hopefully there will still be business coming in from that for him, even if it's not the same as usual.

Australia did the same today. I'm most bummed about gyms being shut down. Mine was already way quieter and I was enjoying the more relaxed atmosphere.
Can totally relate. I can get a workout in with bodyweight in our tiny ass garage, but it's not the same as a squat rack or a deadlift pad. What can you do though, it's for the best.

I work for Amazon, so I'm one of those key personnel type peeps at the moment. Kinda 50/50 on that.

Basically done with a retooling of Narset, couple of last minute tweaks before I update my thread though.

Likewise - I work in oncology, so I can't stop doing my job, it just happens from home now. To be fair it's probably better than doing nothing at home, at least I'm less likely to get cabin fever.

Cabin fever you say...

I do credit card collections, so I'm a bloody key worker and nothing changes for me. I also can't work from home so still have to haul ass into the office.

As a community pharmacist, I'm disappointed that my employer hasn't supplied us with gloves, masks, or sanitizer, nor have they let us put up plastic barriers, and people are still having to interact with pinpads to pick up prescriptions. Being essential kinda blows.

I have been hearing a lot of people getting let go from jobs this week. I hope the impact of this disease isn't a long run one. Sorry for those affected.

Someone in my county just tested positive for COVID 19, and they went to my store. During my shifts. Ugh.

Ruh-roh. You're down in the Annapolis area, right?

Thank god that here in Greece, we closed schools too early and we imposed a lockdown earlier than most. I teach so I'm off for the last two weeks. Been trying to use the official ministry e-tools for teaching and assignment sharing but they were never designed with this situation in mind and they are off all the time. Never expected to say this but I miss going to work!

I have been without daycare for almost two weeks now. My wife and I are both going a little crazy with not being able to get out of the house or get away from the kid.

Did you see that Neil Gaiman has given blanket use for all his material to be used by educators? Pretty cool.

Well I played some more online Commander last night. Had a good time, and got all of of the technical glitches worked out with the exception of my microphone didn't pick up sound on the Twitch stream (but it was working over Discord).

Me, wife, and 4 kiddos at home. I haven't worked since 9 days ago (still paid for now, fortunately). 1 kids sounds like a vacation

My wife stays at home and watches our 2yo normally, so we are fortunate in that regards. But now the 12yo is doing the whole school from home thing, so it's an additional challenge keeping the younger one away during the elder's online schooling. I can't imagine what you're going through MZD, two is plenty for me. And that's with one old enough to entertain herself and help with the younger!

I'm still working since I'm considered essential. We're fortunate that my wife doesn't have to work a typical job. She works super hard taking care of our daughter. Even though I still have to work with the potentially infected public, we're lucky to still have an income.

Both my boyfriend and I are considered essential and working, though fortunately we have no children. A fact I've not been more grateful for. My older brother has 5 very young kids and I'm not sure how he's managed so far.

My wife and I talked about this and I don't think we want to play a zone defense with kids. I think two is our max.

Someone on Twitter joked that in nine months the only babies we will see being born are to first time parents.
