Any W/x deck that likes Fogs will want to upgrade to this. Half the time it's just a
Holy Day for one more, which is meh, but the upside is real. In order of relevance.
- The standard shape of playing is to play most cards post-combat, and so for "good" players this punishes them heavily with a
Silence grafted onto your Fog. Depending on the game this can be a huuuuuge blowout.
- This can stop a lot of triggers, like
Yidris, Maelstrom Wielder,
Narset, Enlightened Master,
Ghired, Conclave Outcast,
Alesha, Who Smiles at Death, the titans,
Bear Umbra,
Dreadhorde Arcanist, the Fate Reforged Dragon-Lords like
Dromoka, the Eternal, and many more. Often these triggers are more dangerous than any combat damage dealt, and so being able to block them is huge!
- This can't be blocked by
Everlasting Torment, unlike most fogs.
Also notably, unlike
Orim's Chant this can be used for full value off of
Sunforger and can be cast at the opportune moment, after an opponent has declared their attack, hopefully leaving the opponent shields down and ready to get cracked back on.
