That's funny, because I really love it. It's saved my bacon more than once in commander, allowing me to weather a wrath that would have wiped out my boardstate completely, thus allowing me to win.

well I'm glad you enjoy it :B I think it's questionable to have a cheap and overly generic spell in green which counters sorceries it takes yr whole turn to cast though

I'm pretty happy with this reprint - the card has gone up in price, and there aren't a lot of good alternatives to it. If you only care about protecting your creatures, you could run something like Wrap in Vigor, but protecting lands and artifacts/enchantments is really hard if you're not running blue for countermagic.

Yusss. I missed the boat on getting these for 2 bucks cos I never had a deck for one, and now I've had 3 decks that wanted one and not been able to make myself pay the premium :P

This might be in the set because they're going in hard on quality removal. I wouldn't be surprised to see Lightning Bolt and Path to Exile at this stage.

Did this card even get played in its first run in Standard? I feel like all the people complaining about Veil of Summer are overestimating protection and underestimating the cantrip.

At least at my LGS almost every deck that played green had a few copies in their sideboard. It was used more as a combat trick, wrath protection, or as a counter for spot removal, unlike Veil of Summer which was used a lot against discard and counterspells.

I'm in pretty much the same boat. When it was, like $4, I thought it would just, you know, go down a little. Bad call, self. Bad call.
