Now this is a card I like

That is an interesting card for sure. Can work as a creature removal spell in a pinch, but can remove anything but a land if you have the proper mana. I like.

I love that the cave painting art is being used and not just art for the walker guide and I love using fun new ways to have 3 color cards without needing to play all 3.

Seems pretty useful as well for general azban use.

I'm glad I was not the only one who thought this. It might be because I'm from the UK but the sentence structure is all kinds of strange here.

It's the only wording that would work within the rules and not be extremely wordy.

"Choose target nonland permanent. If {G}{W} was spent to cast this spell or that permanent is a creature, destroy it."

Seems reasonable in length.

That wording allows you to target noncreatures even without the GW mana, even if it won't destroy them. The printed version only allows you to target noncreatures if the cost is fulfilled.

No, the printed version still lets you target noncreatures regardless of mana spent - works like Fatal Push.

I misread the card and just had to delete my post, thinking it destroyed a nonland permanent if the target's controller used a white or green source to cast it, and the logistics of memory would've been baffling. The actual card's much better, thankfully.

Seb McKinnon knocking it out of the park yet again. Also a pretty amazing spell, Murder that upgrades to Vindicate (almost) for some colors. Kinda wish they'd taken it into Mardu instead of Abzan, since we'd get to hit lands too off of the R.

Both green and black can destroy lands, they chose not to have it target lands as a conscious choice. Whether it had red or not would have been irrelevant for the card.
