They commissioned art for those cards, so... why not? Actually just giving them away as a promotional item seems legitimately like something they'd do to support stores (they seem to find a middle way between cutting out stores for profit and giving stores a way to continue existing) with something silly but sweet.

At some point in the future, after we've all safely gotten past this outbreak, we'll print and provide these Secret Lair drops to WPN stores at no charge, to use at their discretion. We aren't yet sure when that will be or how stores will distribute them, but it'll happen.

The "April Fools" part is that they're actually going to be real. Which is even better.
