I have some versions of both of these effects in my bulk box, with neither ultimately cutting it in EDH land. Will the combination of them finally break through?

Now we also got Peasant? I'm for new creature types but mice and peasants seems a bit excessive. Noble and Warlock filled in some flavor needs, peasant not as much imo
Funny enough I thought of something similar mechanically for a fairy tale set but was flavored as Puss n Boots and also hated on Transform cards.

I feel like they could have used the serf type but whatever. This is a rare I will be incredibly unexcited for. You think his creature side could have at least been Intrepid Hero?

Honestly, I kinda like the peasant type, there are a few creatures that really should have had it but either ended up without a type, or with "scout". Like Mtenda Herder.

Oof. This is a card that was too good to be uncommon but not good enough to be a rare. Maybe just a single white mana for the ability was out of the question?

3 cmc reprisal with a body, Not bad at all.
There are times that intrepid hero can be killed before it could tap. This guy destroys something right away, although only once.

Cheap tappers are pretty good. A cheap tapper that can sometimes instead be a Nekrataal with a tap ability stapled onto it... this card is better than y'all are giving it credit for. If there's a white weenie deck, it will be happy to have this, and it will be one of the better first picks in Limited.

not sure if I like as a rare but I guess it's due to limited making it rare
