who is wedge?
Is this hinting at the creation/awakening of Eldrazi? Very interesting.

Mana source a YouTube channel

Nice source of draw for token decks then when ready for the endgame turn it into a eldrazi

Dammit Wedge. I can't help but feel a bit sorry for the guy - I hit up his Twitter yesterday, scouting for any whiff of the preview, and he was all hyped up about making spoiler videos back on camera. None of those came either.

However, he did have the mental fortitude to call someone spitting on a dog a sociopath in a tweet yesterday. So he could tweet, apparently, but he couldn't even bother to tweet out his spoiler if a video was too much?

the back end on this is a complete miss.
10/10 w/ annihilator 1? then I get it
10/10 golem, construct, statue even

when did eldrazi come from a statue that someone carved? are eldrazi and the gargoyles from ghostbusters similar?

blegh the more I look at the card its elegance and flavor are not sweet

don't get me wrong, a second turn draw a card is very powerful (given a token generated). paying eight for a 10/10 is also powerful

ill cast this and feel the same as drinking a year old can of warm beer.

I've tested a lot of different card draw options in my Teysa, Orzhov Scion deck - Coercive Portal, Oracle's Vault, Mind's Eye, etc - but none of them ever stuck or felt on-theme. Looks like that may finally change.

Idol of Oblivion looks quite good for any sort of of token-based deck. Doesn't have to be creature tokens either, so it also works with Clues and Treasure. This looks like a very efficient draw engine. If you have some way to untap it repeatedly, even better.

The back half is gravy - I wouldn't expect to activate it often, but it's not a bad option to have. Could be useful if you're running a lot of populate and want another option for a large token. Alternatively, feed it to Greater Good.

My sentiments exactly. We've had 9/9 golems, a 10/10 golem works. But an Eldrazi? Why? I get that it's probably a reference to Desolation Twin, but just "be big" is not the mechanics we associate with Eldrazi. Eldrazi Spawn, sure. Annihilator, sure. Using your opponent's exile as a resource, sure. Meld, sure. Hell, even casting triggers and a very odd card would fit more. Colorless mana, including colorless mana as a cost, sure. You can put those on a big creature because, well, the Eldrazi are big; it's just not exclusive to them.

Looking closer at the art, the statue looks like the Ulamog statue on the left in Shrine of the Forsaken Gods. So this might be made by some Eldrazi worshippers back on Zendikar, that actually gets their patron to listen.

Apparently in Vorthos land this is an Ulamog statue. Hence the Eldrazo part.

OK I think I see what your seeing

I just immediately don't associate eldrazi with converting statue to creature

eldrazi do have a alchemy of terraforming and "mutation" of biological substance but. . .

I think they just threw a term on the card, it must have a synergy unseen. . .(ie take the card out of the vacuum)
