Hi, I have Mirror entity on the field. Pay 5 mana for the ability of entity. Can the opponent stop the ability of mirror entity from resolving, like for example shooting it with a fatal push or lightning bolt in response to me paying ?
Accepted Answer
You cannot remove an ability by removing its source:
There are some ways to specifically counter activated abilities. The two we saw in recent years were Tale's End and Disallow. Your opponent will have to use one of those to prevent the ability from resolving once you've activated the ability.
Go to full postEven if they do bolt your Mirror Entity, the ability will remain on the stack, will resolve, and will make all your creatures into 5/5s.112.7a Once activated or triggered, an ability exists on the stack independently of its source. Destruction or removal of the source after that time won't affect the ability.
