Re: Changing Commanders
Seems like a lot of you retire commander decks after a while. I very rarely do that. I'm constantly iterating my decks, every couple of months I take a solid look at each one and try to see how I can improve it with different cards. I just got finished overhauling all 17.

Oathbreaker
So. How about that new format? Members of my regular group have made a few decks between them, some a bit stronger than others. But it's a pretty new format and people are still trying to gauge the right power level that decks should be, I think. I finally got around to making one for myself a coupl...

Re: Old characters left for legends?
I want Jarad's son too, he would be a cool abzan legend Oh yeah 100%. However...An argument could even be made for him to be WGRB card. Please no. Color needs to matter. 4 color was a mistake. But his grandfather was a Wojek...and Myc was magically bonded to Rakdos himself for a bit. He's got some ...

Re: Old characters left for legends?
I thought of another one. Myczil Savod Zunich, Jarad's son, who is a pretty minor character, but he would probably make for a really cool card. An elf on Ravnica who was trained in the ways of the Selesnya and the Golgari. I want Jarad's son too, he would be a cool abzan legend Oh yeah 100%. Howeve...

Re: The Wanderer
My cynical theory is that they haven't actually decided who the wanderer is yet. She's left purposefully vague, and takes very few cues from existing characters so they can reveal her to be whoever the story needs her to be. Is she Elspeth? Maybe. Did Baltrice take up white mana and buy a hat? Coul...

So I tried to run a Magic inspired D&D campaign....then things happened.
Okay, so, last year I started running D&D at my FLGS, and it's mostly gone pretty well, but I started a new campaign a couple months ago and it ran off the rails amazingly fast. I decided to give it a bit of a Magic theme, with the overarching plot being dormant Phyrexian machines being awakened...

I live in Texas.
It's hot. It's almost always hot.
But I don't live in the desert part, I live in the swamp part.
So it's always hot -and- humid.

Re: Changing Commanders
My Vorosh deck did something a little different.
I built a Vorosh deck, put Skullbriar in it, felt the blue wasn't working out so I turned it into a Skullbriar deck, didn't enjoy that, so I took it apart...and then later built a new Vorosh deck that's much more interesting.

Re: [official] How long have you been playing?
Let's see...I remember hearing about Magic in a magazine when I was pretty young, and running across it a few times, but it never really interested me until 2003 when I joined a playgroup at a bookstore near my house. I started about two weeks after 8th Edition released. I still remember the first M...

Librarian of Alexandria on Youtube.
So this isn't my channel, but I know the guy that runs it and he's a pretty cool guy. (A real shark at the weekly commander night, though.) He posts box openings and commander game videos. More content is going to be coming in the future, but the first game video is up, it's a commander game with th...

Changing Commanders
So. This is a thing that I've done a few times...How often do you change the commanders for your decks? Maybe this year's precons had a better option in those colors, maybe something good from the new fall set, or even the core set had a new legendary that was the right colors, but better for the th...

Re: [Off-Topic] Community Chat Thread
One of my fastest losses in EDH was to an early game Stigma Lasher from my buddy's Alesha deck. My Savra deck never had a chance. I've been on the opposite side of that sort of thing, too. A friend of mine once cooked up a really nasty Horobi, Death's Wail deck...and my Nath deck ramped and quickly ...

The Wanderer
Okay. I know that literally everyone has a take on who The Wanderer is, but I do have a pet theory.
I think it might be Michiko Konda. She's got a very Kamigawa type aesthetic going on,

Re: Old characters left for legends?
So many great suggestions in this thread! I was so happy when we finally got Feather, and then Yawgmoth not long after. Of course, I'd still like to see a Yawgmoth as a God card. Remember, he never was a planeswalker, so a planeswalker card would not be appropriate. I was thinking earlier today that...
