Re: Poison Sure Has Come a Long Way

You know, blue/green has so much proliferation, I use it now in my Prime Speaker Zegana edh along with graft creatures, but I'd never actually considered U/G poison. How does that work as a basic deck-shell, exactly? Is it a grindy-proliferate, or an explosive infect-in-your-face approach like I ha...

Re: Casual-60 Tyranids?!?

It has also been noted that the color ratio for my lands is pretty bad. I've done the math: 21 lands, 9 of which are basics 51 mana symbols - 38 G, 9 U, 4 R If we're working with the full land skew, I should have ~15.64 G-generating lands, ~3.7 U-generating lands, and ~1.647 R-generating lands. If w...

Re: Casual-60 Tyranids?!?

It's been noted that I should probably go up in Mawlocs, and that Tervigons are likely the best cut for those. This change has been made.

Re: Poison Sure Has Come a Long Way

I do love me some poison counters. I think UG Infect is a deck I'd enjoy playing in Legacy, personally - at least, if Trops weren't so expensive, anyway!

Re: Sometimes...Greed Isn't Good, It's GREAT!!!

I'd love to see how this deck plays - I tried to make Demigod of Revenge work in 60-card, but was unfortunately unsuccessful in my endeavors. If it works for you, however, that's pretty cool!

Re: "But, But, I Like Cheeseballs..."

Thopter Sword and Turbo Depths are actually quite strong, the latter in Legacy, and the former in Modern, I think? I can't recall if Thopter Sword is a thing in Legacy, but I'm sure you could make it work - but yeah, I can definitely see why both of these might be rough to face at a casual table!

Re: Bend, but Don't Break

I personally often go all-in on my archetypes for the sake of efficiency, but I have been known to include pet cards (i.e. Bounty of the Luxa) for the sake of augmenting an already-existing gameplan until I find I can no longer keep those cards in for the sake of furthering the gameplan.

Re: Swiss Army Knife decks - do you have one?

I believe "Swiss Army Knife" decks are referred to as "toolbox" decks - because you can pull out a tool you need for any situation, as it were. :) I'm a big fan of toolbox decks, and, back when I had Nic Fit put together, I definitely used a toolbox build for it - I ran a bunch o...

Re: Besides Commander, what else casual do you play?

Hello and welcome! I feel like you'd get along swimmingly with our resident Casual mod, RabidVacin - he has an absolutely massive load of 60-card decks that I believe are all Vintage-legal, but nowhere near Vintage power. I personally enjoy Casual-60 as a non-format, myself, and if you take a look a...

Re: ...so, I lied. I built another deck. UG Legendary Dragonsong!

Got to play this deck a lot on Sunday. It got a lot of wins in against Legacy Delver Shadow, though my opponent was an inexperienced pilot of the deck (and player, in general), so, that could have simply been the reason(s). I'm still contemplating the swap from Harmonize to Unexpected Results , thou...

Re: CRAB BATTLE, AAAAUGH

Restless Reef is a little wonky, because the game is often over before the mana hits the board to animate it, and it's between animating it and casting more mill spells - however, having it as an occasional threat and a mana sink for the turns when I top a land is actually really nice to have. My on...

Re: CRAB BATTLE, AAAAUGH

I think Cruel Somnophage only fits into the boss monster slots, and I don't want to take those out, so, it can stay out of the deck, I guess.

I've replaced the 4 Choked Estuary with 4 Restless Reef. Will report back with results.

Re: [Placeholder] Primer - Reanimator

Thinking I'm gonna drop Buried Alive so I have more discard outlets - Collective Brutality feels like the best option, as I've never been a huge fan of Unmask in this deck, and 1/3 of my creatures not being B also puts a bit of a hampering on that, anyway. I also feel like we might want Serra's Emis...

Re: [Placeholder] Primer - Death's Shadow Delver

Thinking about putting together a sideboard for this and making it a proper Legacy deck. Some combination of the following:

Dismember
Surgical Extraction
Brazen Borrower
Dress Down
Plague Engineer
Snuff Out
Sheoldred's Edict
Flusterstorm
Force of Negation

Re: Oracle's Shift

An update: This deck feels to be in a pretty decent spot. The sol lands conflicting with the double/triple blue pips in some of our stuff is lame, but they've been a fine way to get out Intuition, our one copy of Spellseeker (which I like better than a 3rd Narset), and Thought Lash, the latter of wh...

Re: Your last legacy games

I've been building some Legacy stuff, lately, to have some variety when I play with my one IRL friend that also plays Legacy. I've put together Nic Fit, Reanimator, Turbo Depths, and Delver Shadow. (I tend to lean towards combo decks, with my other two Legacy decks being Sneak & Breach and Oracl...

Re: [Placeholder] Primer - Death's Shadow Delver

I've been putzing around with Delver Shadow a bit, lately. Orcish Bowhamsters has really warped the format, so literal actual Delver hasn't been great, recently, nor has Dark Confidant, both of which are in my build. It's been recommended that I swap things out for Grief , Troll of Khazad-dûm , Bowh...

Re: [Placeholder] Primer - Depths

I've been experimenting with Depths, for a while, now. I had two main variants I liked - one I called "Depths' Shadow", which used Sylvan Library , Thoughtseize , Dark Confidant , and shocklands as a Death's Shadow package to have an alternate threat that could play around Karakas , and th...
