Re: Ephara, God of the Polis - Flash & Taxes
Man this control build of Ephara is absolutely a riot to play. It takes a while, but I'm getting faster and faster at managing the triggers. I went absolutely off last night; Illustrious Wanderglyph got to show up, and unfortunately immediately died, but I was able to chase it with Stenn, Paranoid P...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - The War Doctor
I am frankly just so damned tired of everything killing everything all the time :D I'm not building decks that require creatures to stick on the board much anymore.

Re: Thrasios and Tormod's Field of the Dead
I managed to squeeze tortoise in by just cutting Reshape the Earth which is way too expensive and less fun. :D The issue I find with azusa effects is they require a second piece to be good (loam or whatever). I do like Oracle better and would play it first. That said, y'all should try Druid Class --...

Re: Thrasios and Tormod's Field of the Dead
Have you considered Blossoming Tortoise ? It always does work for me and it would fuel Field of the Dead and trigger Tormod, the Desecrator I in fact have a Blossoming Tortoise in my box ready to try to slot in next time I work on the deck :D It suffers from being a creature but it also is really e...

Re: Balancing Act
I think most casual people would flip the hell out if you got 2 lands and nothing else and cast Balancing Act :D If it's against more aggressive cutthroat players I doubt they give a crap since they should be expecting to defend against counterspell-only questions. basically for me, this is a deck f...

Re: Thrasios and Tormod's Field of the Dead
Is Reshape the Earth really all that? I see it in several lands lists but gosh the mana cost seems high. Interestingly I have run into a crapload of times where Titania's Command would have outperformed it. Reshape the Earth definitely is there for "I make field and 9 zombies right now, and th...

Re: Kalamax Midrange/Tempo
I wonder if maybe this is a Chandra's Ignition deck in the spell heavier version? it's a sorcery, doh. I have had similar experiences to you with Growth Spiral effects; I even whiffed on Explore in 47 land Thrasios, Triton Hero once which made me really mad. :D On paper it seems really good though....

Re: Varina, Lich Queen - Esper Zombie Midrange
You convinced me to give another try to Dread Return. I just found a foil old design one for a cheap 0,3$ 🤩 man this new era of easily available old bordered foils is awesome :D I love them. Getting an old bordered foil Sevinne's Reclamation for Ephara was realllly nice. I will say that it is disti...

Re: Narset, Enlightened Exile - WIP
I'd think you would place a premium on equipment that autoequips in this deck? Maybe embercleave and hammer of Nazahn type stuff? I'm sure there are more decent ones I'm missing. Both being a little awkward because of their mana value tho lol :D Wonder if some auras may be efficient? There are quite...

Re: Varina, Lich Queen - Esper Zombie Midrange
I run Dread Return and it's always phenomenal. I'm still curious. How does this card is so phenomenal for you ? Can you explain me in which scenario it shines so much ? Generally used to reanimate a combo piece for free. You can entomb it or intuition it (and they can't really put it in your hand s...

Re: Varina, Lich Queen - Esper Zombie Midrange
I have also gotten a lot of good mileage from Bone Miser. This is one that's actually on my list because I kind of want to add another discard outlet to support Lazotep Chancellor (who is really, really good) -- so I feel like having another guy who can single handedly drive the discard strategy ba...

Re: Varina, Lich Queen - Esper Zombie Midrange
Generally, I agree with @pokken here. There's very few mana positive rocks we want to hit, to the point where even Sol Ring is less helpful to us. I think if you're wanting the best rocks you can include, you want Chrome Mox , Mox Diamond , maybe Lotus Petal and that's honestly about it. We don't n...

Re: Kalamax Midrange/Tempo
(just a random pile of thoughts) I am not sure I understand (the 2 CMC sorcery ramp package in this deck. You don't really want to cast Kalamax as 4 on 3 with shields down do you? Seems more like, if you really want sorcery ramp (and I don't think you do) you want Cultivate or Birds of Paradise , or...

Re: Varina, Lich Queen - Esper Zombie Midrange
What about Mana Crypt, Sol Ring, Mox Diamond, Chrome Mox and stuff like this ? I will probably cut them all. I think Varina just needs to lands every turn and it's enough. As soon as we play a land each and every turn we are fine because we will go of with an altar or a big mana land like Crypt or ...

Re: rate commanders you've played for physical complication
Xenagos, God of Revels is my best meathead deck. It requires the ability to count and double things but not much else. :D Almost all my other decks require just an assload of shuffling, thinking, remembering what's in your hand, yard and top of your deck, etc. Breena, the Demagogue is my second sim...

Standardized sort automatically
Is there a way to make a decklist and have it automatically standard sort? Right now when I update a decklist from Deckbox, I will export it as straight text and it comes out like this: 1 Arid Mesa 1 Command Tower 1 Emeria, the Sky Ruin 1 Fabled Passage 1 Field of the Dead 1 Flooded Strand 1 Gemston...

Re: Saryth's Magnificent Trampling Circus
I don't think this deck needs or wants any "put a billion things without haste on the battlefield" effects. it's winmore and sometimes actively bad with some creatures (hydras esp).
Many things I would prioritize over winmore stuff.

Re: Rocco, Hatebear Caterer
This deck is pure table flipping :D I love it. I would not play *any* vanilla beaters in this deck; and Sun Titan is overcosted without fetch ramp as an out. Overall really like where you're going. One really subtle but cool interaction with Rocco, Cabaretti Caterer is that he can find Strict Procto...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Nature's Resurgence
These types of cards are almost always way better in your imagination than they are. Crypt of Agadeem is an example of one that I have only ever had go well in Varina, Lich Queen where I actively am filling my yard and have a very high creature count. It takes quite a bit of doing to get enough crea...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Keeper of the Accord
My experience with keeper has been that it is only really good if you are actively going down on lands as a matter of gameplay. If you are on a ton of karoos and lotus lands it's really super strong. If not it sucks. It is also really good on a perilous forays plan where you intend to sacrifice the ...

Re: Ephara, God of the Polis - Flash & Taxes
So I saw another newish card here I'm not sure I ever discussed: First Response This card seems potentially really strong. Conceptually it should: * Deter chip damage attacks, since you draw a card and make a dude * Trigger off of Fetchlands (which I have ~8 of) as well as Ancient Tomb and Mana Cryp...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Thicket Elemental
So this is actually a really cool card I might run in my specific build of Xenagos, God of Revels which does not play any bad creatures really. It's a little unfortunate it has such a bad body and no trample though.
Still, a random one of the creatures in my deck is really good :D

Re: Hazezon, Shaper of Sand - Traversing the Desert
I honestly didn't even know about Ruin Ghost. That seems like a reasonable addition. I looked into Case of the Locked Hothouse as a second Oracle of Mul Daya . I decided against it primarily due to being 4 mana (even though that is what Oracle costs) but if I continue down the route of some of the ...
