Re: [SCD] Sol Ring

Does the power of Sol Ring anything to do with its legality? Every format has something akin to Sol Ring. A card too powerful that remains legal.

Re: A Case for Wishes

The biggest case AGAINST wishes for me is that it breaks the deck building restriction of 100 cards. You mention that it doesn't go against the spirit of the format, which I actually totally agree with. I do think that wishes make the puzzle of deckbuiliding much easier though. I think that adding a...

What would you cut for Scheming Symmetry?
Underrealm Lich or Bolas's Citadel.

I like this deck it looks very solid. The manabase is nice, you haven't gone too crazy on utility lands. I see a lot of people doing that.

I think peoples whining is what makes games bad. If you want to discuss things constructively, please do. Complaining during a game that you aren't winning is just the worst.

Re: "Help me cut a card" thread

I'll start: - I want to add the hot new land Field of the Dead into Lord Windgrace . - My current list has the following colorless lands: Blast Zone Cabal Stronghold Dark Depths Dust Bowl Ghost Quarter Glacial Chasm Thespian's Stage Vesuva Volrath's Stronghold Which one, if any, should I cut for Fi...

Re: Card list by Role/Function - What's your approach?

I prefer decklist by function. I think both is probably best to include all readers. The strangest thing about this discussion is people unable to interpret both styles. I would never disregard a deck that wasn't sorted the way I like. That seems ... negative or inflexible in way I don't like. I alw...

Re: The moving goalposts of staying within budget

This is an interesting topic. I purchased and traded for many expensive magic cards years ago. 10 years later they are much more expensive and I do get comments about the budget of my decks. Magic can be pay to win, but the price doesn't always equal the power. Take for instance Solemn Simulacrum . ...

Re: Commander 2019 Speculation

I would be VERY surprised if they reprinted anything currently worth more than $10 unless that price is solely tied to scarcity. What I would expect is they reprint a bunch of stuff that only crept up because of being a single printing. Black Market for example in the last set (or was it the one be...

Re: Lord Windgrace, Lands + Eldrazi

You might like some ideas from my Gitrog deck that does the same thing. https://deckbox.org/sets/1368747 Probably the most unique thing I added to this archetype (I think) are the land-drop tappers. More 1 cmc land drop effects is just, well, really strong for achieving mass landfall - and also cri...

Re: Arixmethes, Slumbering Isle: Do Not Disturb

Errr, Amulet of Vigor ? Other than Arixmethes himself, I don't see much else it interacts with, so I don't see the value in running it. Why do you think it would be good? This deck is very well built. It has a theme, but doesn't sacrifice power for the theme. It has a good balance of staples and un...

Re: Elenda, the Dusk Rose: The World Ends With You

Thought I'd give this a try as it looks fun and I own 99% of the cards. The one card I don't own is Xiahou Dun, the One-Eyed and I won't proxy a $90 card that I have no intention of buying. Does anyone have any suggestions for a replacement here? Thanks There is no direct replacement to Xiahou Dun ...

Great suggestions, I need to get the one drop spells you mentioned. I meant to add a Crop Rotation a while back and I like the creatures that enable extra lands.

I will make some updates and post here when I implement some of the changes you mentioned.

Lord Windgrace, Lands + Eldrazi

Lord Windgrace This is my version of Lord Windgrace. I have built the deck to maximize playing extra lands and drawing cards. These are my two favorite rules to break in MTG: Draw one card play one land. I have also included a few Eldrazi, another thing I really enjoy doing. There is a little bit o...

Re: Having Your Voice Heard

Try to put yourself in the place of the RC. They have a very tough job of trying to manage this hugely popular MTG format. There are many different factors to weigh and no one is ever going to be perfectly pleased. It is a never-ending, thankless task,

I can only see two targets for Thalia's Lancers.

You might be a little removal light? I think you have plently to survive but you're sacrificing some of whites best cards for theme. Which is totally fine and I like the cantrip removal you have included.

Re: Elenda, the Dusk Rose: The World Ends With You

My point about the lands isn't that they aren't good enough or that they don't have good applications. Also, I don't think your curve is high or that you won't have enough mana. I just think they are going to make it harder to cast cards early in the game or put you in a place where you have to play...
