Re: [ELD] Vorthos'y cards (The Vorthos Cast)
Festive Funeral's flavor text has a _very_ strong vibe of 'in a very real, legally-binding sense' to it. (I.e., the Monty Python and the Holy Grail scene where Lancelot raids a wedding party)

Auto-include in Kalemne Commander decks? It even curves well.

Re: [ELD] Murderous Rider
You know, I'm pretty sure the tuck effect on death is meant to be a balance feature. There are a lot of cards that can Raise Dead a Zombie.

I like her interaction with Witching Well. T1, play well. T2, play her. Then you have a nice value engine...

Re: [ELD] "Greedy Impulse" (mtgjp)
Cyberium: Sure, you have to pay for it, but it also can hit the hand and it's any nonland permanent, not just Instant or Sorcery.
So... it looks more like a costly Coercion that you then get to play. Kinda like Hostage Taker is a more expensive O-Ring that you can then play....

Re: [ELD] He's Back! Garruk, Cursed Huntsman
As a twin, I was hoping that MTG would give us twin PWs who essentially 'share' a spark... I even asked MaRo the question on Blogatog, but I never got a response, to my knowledge. Anyway, I like the innovative ways they are looking at loyalty on PWs (Chandra from M20, Garruk here). Garruk himself se...

Re: [ELD] Piper of the Swarm (MTG Twitter)
I love this card. I find it interesting, though, the take(s) Magic has on some of these themes... Piper of the Swarm clearly isn't getting _rid_ of the rats...

Re: [ELD] MTG Japan
K, it ate my last post, apparently. 1. The Pie card's name could quite literally be 'Baked in a Pie'. The Japanese word used here is 'tsutsumi' (gah, Hepburn romanization) which can mean 'package'. 2. The translation is, in general, accurate. 3. I really like Beanstalk Giant. Ramp + Ramp target in o...

Rotting Regisaur kinda tells us something. I wonder if Agonizing Syphon will wheel.
Pick: Rotting Regisaur.

Re: Fall set Name revealed at SDCC
My only question is... why in the world is MaRo so excited for this? He's specifically said that three sets this year he's really excited about, and that he expects us to be equally excited about them. Those three sets are War of the Spark, Modern Horizons, and Eldraine. What does Eldraine have in i...

Re: Fall set Name revealed at SDCC
Among the top of my queries... why did they pick a name for the set/plane (Eldraine) that sounds so much like one of their other IPs (Eldrazi?) The name itself points to Arthurian legend, with it being an amalgamation of Elaine, Gawain, and a few other names/sounds I'm sure I'm not thinking of at th...

Re: Fall set Name revealed at SDCC
Faeries everywhere. This very much looks like 'fixed Lorwyn'. Or... could it BE Lorwyn? Looked at in a certain way, that set symbol looks an awful lot like Oona. If so, then Eldraine might be a combination of Lorwyn and Shadowmoor... but we know that this is considered by MaRo a new plane, so... >< ...
