Re: Post PE Metagame

To put it simply, paradox engine was very flexible as a card, ranging from combo piece for some commander centric strats, to engine piece that let you push through stack based interaction. It required a field to go off and you could interact with the stuff on board to mess with it, and it being a 5 ...

Re: Having Your Voice Heard

I've noticed that edh nights that reward pod success are more successful than ones that try to force a rigid structure. So for example, first pod is random then you can get up and pod with whomever, pack per pod win. It's what my lgs uses. The issue is that doesn't work for every store because that ...

Re: Having Your Voice Heard

Not for nothing but i don't like treating this as as a tale of two races. It feels incomplete as a snapshot of the format. the social landscape has changed a lot even in the last 9 years too. The rise of content, local scenes, and go side events, just were not around back then. Just like I would hat...

Re: Prospect of a cEDH Committee on MTGNexus

New problems with separate banlists but not separate formats. Comments in the form of rhetorical questions because. Rc says they don't want to multiple time, forcing that responsibility is sketchy What does your lgs use now? Are you sure it's the banlist you want? What does the gp side event use? Wh...

Re: Having Your Voice Heard

Styrofoam not for nothing but your analogy is sorta off because city politics way more complicated than a clean split like that. Even here in cmdr land, casual opinions are not monolithic, and not everyone is playing the same brand of casual, not do they play that way forever. Fro...

Re: Having Your Voice Heard

cryogen that banlist is probably much smaller than the assumed one the RC actually plays with. When you're playing inside a store however, each store has their own set of shibboleths, essentially shared values. In this way, most local game stores end up acting as temples for play ...

Re: Having Your Voice Heard

Cedh's house rule: no cheating, no card restrictions based on feels. Usual tournament at casual rel stuff. Playtest cards are usually a yay. Sometimes there not. That one is like the only real house rule I've ever seen in cedh that's actively discussed, but I haven't ran into a ton of issues where p...

Re: Having Your Voice Heard

I mean for the record if you don't want to play cedh, it's a very opt in activity, most magic on a casual level is. I would also ask you take a step back and examine your own actions, if you can observe a game irl you're within proximity enough to convey a body language, and that sheepish behavior c...

Re: Having Your Voice Heard

I mean I wouldn't say banning flash wouldn't affect general play. It would probably be a net gain overall because the card is actually really dumb with sylvan primordial, prime time and sundering titan. Or really anythng similar.

Re: Having Your Voice Heard

I want to point out by the nature of surveys that not everyone who voted 1-3 for you is necessarily outside your vision . I'm sort of assuming that your core demographic cast the majority of your votes. I don't think the format is going to fall apart just because you don't like something. just stay ...

Re: Having Your Voice Heard

I mean I play edh because it ticks off a lot of design boxes for good game design and doesn't need an exhaustive banlist to regulate a large card pool because the color limitations and Singleton restrictions are very very good as restrictions. Asking me to go do my own thing and call myself cedh or ...

Re: Having Your Voice Heard

I'm going to ignore the idea of a bad faith actor here because I don't think that conversation leads anywhere productive. That Reddit post is basically saying that if you draw a line in the Sand, they're on the side of the RC. The context here is that theyre assuming the RC isn't making a format spl...

Re: Having Your Voice Heard

You've posted multiple times "we don't consider competitive when making bans" . If you wanted people to believe that you considered our opinions you might want to consider competitive when making bans and not just be dismissive.

Re: [SCD] Flash

So I play cedh pretty much exclusively. I really only have a couple talking points personally because I'm okay with playing the chicken game that flash forces you into. For perspective on how warping flash is It's not "decks designed to beat counter flash" and "flash decks". It's...
