Re: Yawgmoth, Father of Machines: Suicide (AKA Blood-Storm) Mono-Black Control

I hadn't consider the new Weatherlight and it looks really interesting in the deck. Sheoldred is indeed an auto-include, and looking at my list the only thing I see cutting is Phyrexian Obliterator, which I played more for sentimental reasons than results.

Re: Yawgmoth, Father of Machines: Suicide (AKA Blood-Storm) Mono-Black Control

I agree with you on these. Nothing really worthy of inclusion for now. I was reviewing my monocolored decks lately and realized I was usually using the Diamonds instead of Arcane Signet, which I always thought of a card for multicolored decks. It's of course less in theme for Yawgmoth, but I guess w...

Re: Yawgmoth, Father of Machines: Suicide (AKA Blood-Storm) Mono-Black Control

Hey, sorry, I was sure I had replied here! I don't recall which artifact made me write that message, but I'm thinking on Grafdigger's Cage or Mimic Vat, for example, two cards that see some play in my LGS. Any new cards in NEO o SNC that look interesting? I've been quite off lately. I'm very excited...

Re: Yawgmoth, Father of Machines: Suicide (AKA Blood-Storm) Mono-Black Control

Thanks for your input! I have been able to test my deck with many of your additions, and I must say it works really well! The build is very synergistic and our dear Lord of the Wastes controls the board in a surprising way. My big problem seems to be artifacts, as I don't have a Gate to Phyrexia and...

I usually buy every Bundle, and I find the boxes perfect to store all my cards.

Re: Yawgmoth, Father of Machines: Suicide Mono-Black Control

First, I must say this primer is amazing. Congrats and thank you, because seeing your list and reading every section gave me a lot of ideas on how to improve mine. I built a Yawgmoth deck like a year ago, trying to build something good but favoring flavor before usefulness. Your primer is inspiring!...

Re: [official]card storage/sorting discussion

A long time ago, I kept all my playing cards in big binders. However, the collection grew and right now I'm using fat pack/bundle boxes. I've purchased fat packs from almost every set since BFZ, so right now I have many of these boxes. I have one for artifacts, another for multicolored cards, anothe...

I guess now we can say we are not going to the Norse world this Fall.

I can't say I'm super excited, but I wasn't excited for Ixalan and it became one of my favorite planes, so... Let's see what MaRo tells us on Saturday.

Re: [Deck] 8Rack

As I Mono-Black lover, I thank you for this primer.

I built the linear version of this deck last year and played it for some time. Despite my efforts, I found it was quite slow many times and never got many wins.

The non-linear version is an interesting option, however.

Re: [Official] "What Deck Should I Play?" Thread

I think Shadow is fairly well positioned. I think you can win nearly every matchup that is played often, outside of Humans and Dredge (depending on SBed games of course). UW Control and GB Rock are tough in my opinion and from my experience, but some Grixis Shadow players feel that it's 50/50, so t...

Re: [Official] "What Deck Should I Play?" Thread

I recently moved, and as in my new city the Commander scene is almost non existent, I will have to finally start playing Modern seriously. I've had a couple decks before: two or three years ago I played Ad Nauseam for a while, and last year I built 8-Rack, but while I loved each and every card, I ha...

Re: The Wanderer

It seems the obvious idea everyone had is that the Wanderer was Elspeth, but I guess right now this has been discarded.

I really don't have any idea of who she can be, but she could just be someone who either forgot her previous life, or one who choose to start a new life as a vagrant vigilante.

Re: Changing Commanders

My first Commander deck was mono black, and during these first months I frequently changed my commander as I tried to find the right style and gameplan for the deck: Lim-Dûl, Erebos, Kalitas, Chainer and Kalitas again. I ended up dismantling the deck, however. The rest of my decks have remained with...

Re: Where do we go from here? Future set speculation.

The Norse / snowy world will be one of the next ones for sure. However, I don't really know if having Snow lands in MH1 is really a clue or just a hint that we'll go there but not yet. Maro told us that we won't be getting Snow cards in Standard for a while. Then that's it. I think it would be quit...

Re: [official] Card Sleeve and Deckbox discussion

I used Ultra PRO for a long time, and a couple years ago I bought some KMCs. Then I tried Dragon Shield mates and I love them. I have some Eclipse, but they look kinda dark for me so I keep buying Dragon Shield. For inner sleeves, I usually used KMC's Perfect Fits, but I think I've tried a couple of...

I'd love them to stop with 3-4-5 colors for one year. I'd rather have monocolored decks, or two-color decks.

Re: Where do we go from here? Future set speculation.

As much as I love Innistrad, I don't think we'll be back there in the next three or four years. They usually take much time to go back to planes: Ravnica was 2006, 2012 and 2018, so six years at least. The Norse / snowy world will be one of the next ones for sure. However, I don't really know if hav...

Re: [official] How long have you been playing?

I started just some months after Magic was first published in Spanish, in January 1996. My cousins bought some Fourth Edition tournament packs, I joined them and we started playing and buying booster packs. Back there we only had 4th and Homelands available, but soon we got Chronicles, Ice Age was t...

I loved discovering their new cards when I started playing. That cartoonish style was really great for some cards back then.

Mirror Universe, Rainbow Vale and Sulfurous Springs might be my favorite art of them.
