Re: Sidisi, Brood Tyrant - Zombie Horde and Shenanigans

https://www.moxfield.com/decks/ZvjXMo2eeEG1wJVmo2aprQ Played this list yesterday, and it felt very nostalgic to let Craterhoof Behemoth resolve three times (once on an empty board for the win) :D I still adore the deck after all these years, even if I took a break from it for a while. Craterhoof Be...

Re: Sidisi, Brood Tyrant - Zombie Horde and Shenanigans

How has Circle of Dreams Druid worked out for you? I'm still torn about it with the triple G in the casting cost. It's actually not that bad. Keep in mind that I'm running a lot of lands that can tap for any color plus fetches for consistency. I can also reanimate it, too. So there're ways around t...

Re: Sidisi, Brood Tyrant - Zombie Horde and Shenanigans

KitsuLeif You make a good point about Sylvan Caryatid over Urborg Elf. I took out Mana Crypt to "lower the power" of my decks for a meta I had been playing in and that was what I had at hand. But definitely Sylvan Caryatid is better in terms of mana dork for the cost. As for the goodies i...

Re: Sidisi, Brood Tyrant - Zombie Horde and Shenanigans

I've been considering coming back to Sidisi for a while now, but Angel of Suffering completely tipped me over the edge. I have to make cuts from like 5-6 other decks to build Sidisi once again (and since I only got one copy of Kozilek and Ulamog I'm considering putting only one in Sidisi and leavin...

Re: Sidisi, Brood Tyrant - Zombie Horde and Shenanigans

Valid point, I'm thinking about Tortured Existence for it. I put it in as a placeholder for Wrenn and Seven but I've yet to acquire one. I forgot about that until I was just thumbing through my deck. I'm also going to be adding Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet back in. My meta has gone board wipe happy for...

I can't decide what to take out for Angel of Suffering. I'm trying to stay on curve so replace a 5 drop with it. I'm leaning towards Final Parting but am not sure.
Whoa, whoa, whoa! I would never take out Final Parting. That card alone sets up Filth + Urborg.

Re: Sidisi, Brood Tyrant - Zombie Horde and Shenanigans

Here's my review for New Capenna Commander : Dogged Detective - It surveils when it enters the battlefield and then it can potentially return from the graveyard to your hand. Not necessarily a bad card, considering that we can use it as sacrifice fodder. But there are already so many good cards in t...

Re: Sidisi, Brood Tyrant - Zombie Horde and Shenanigans

Here's my review for Streets of New Capenna : Angel of Suffering - 100% going in the deck. This card is absolutely insane. Although we still lose life to strict life loss effects, anything that's damage will be doing us a favor. This card is ridiculously good here! Cemetery Tampering - Although a no...

Re: Sidisi, Brood Tyrant - Zombie Horde and Shenanigans

So I follow your Moxfield page and saw that you added Angel of Suffering. I am pretty sure she activates with pain lands. Any thought about putting those back in? That's a very good point. That's something I can definitely consider. I'd have to see which lands to cut for them. Maybe I'll put swap t...

Re: Sidisi, Brood Tyrant - Zombie Horde and Shenanigans

Here's my review for Kamigawa Neon Dynasty : Boseiju, Who Endures - The chasest card of the set, this one provides the conundrum of whether or not it takes up a land slot in the deck or not. Since we're milling ourselves quite often, we're inevitably losing lands. However, since we can play lands fr...

Re: Sidisi, Brood Tyrant - Zombie Horde and Shenanigans

I'm having a ton of fun messing with your Sidisi takes! I'm curious if you have a current list for the zombie version that takes into accounts the recent sets? Mostly for the cuts you've made, really -- such a tight list. Hey! Sorry for the late reply; I was on vacation for the holidays. I have yet...

Re: Sidisi, Brood Tyrant - Zombie Horde and Shenanigans

Last night I won a game off of Zombie Apocalypse . 3 of the creatures it brought back were Gray Merchant of Asphodel , Fleshbag Marauder , and Mikaeus, the Unhallowed . Gary made each opponent lose 20 life upon entering, then I sacrificed Gary to Fleshbag Marauder, and it came back to make each opp...

Re: Sidisi, Brood Tyrant - Zombie Horde and Shenanigans

The zombie tribal build definitely got some new toys in this set. Unfortunately the main build really didn't get any help...not that it needs it. Yeah, but in part I'm a bit grateful for that since it's always so impossibly difficult to find cuts in the Main Build if there were any goodies. Right n...

Re: Sidisi, Brood Tyrant - Zombie Horde and Shenanigans

Here's my review for Innistrad Crimson Vow : Geralf, Visionary Stitcher - Giving flying to our zombies is really just a bonus since we have better ways of making our zombies unblockable. But being able to sacrifice another nontoken creature (which we can later reanimate) in order to create a beefy z...

Re: Sidisi, Brood Tyrant - Zombie Horde and Shenanigans

I may have to stop playing my optimized deck for a while, I'm constantly the target even when there's more powerful decks at the table because people have seen it pop off so many times. That can happen, unfortunately. Even though the deck isn't inherently broken in terms of expensive/powerful cards...

Re: Sidisi, Brood Tyrant - Zombie Horde and Shenanigans

Here's my review for Midnight Hunt Commander : Cleaver Skaab - 100% going in the Zombie Build. Are you crazy?! This thing is going to be effing insane here! Empty the Laboratory - I'm just going to point to my analysis for Cleaver Skaab, since it's equally fitting for this one. Hordewing Skaab - Not...

Re: Sidisi, Brood Tyrant - Zombie Horde and Shenanigans

Here's my review for Innistrad Midnight Hunt : Organ Hoarder - A filter effect on a body isn't bad, especially since it's a zombie. So it can go in either build - even the Budget Version. Otherworldly Gaze - Can definitely go in the Budget Build so long as a creature isn't cut for it. Poppet Stitche...

Wilhelt, the Rotcleaver could be an interesting little recovery tool.
Definitely! It also helps us recycle zombies at least once as well for sacrifice outlets.

Just made infinite zombie tokens with Aphetto Alchemist and Mesmeric Orb on the opponent before mines endstep. One guy went to Cyc Rift and I dropped Frilled Mystic in response. It was great. They all scooped after that.

Re: Sidisi, Brood Tyrant - Zombie Horde and Shenanigans

Agreed. I'm constantly tinkering with my decks and hardly ever consider them "finished". But this next update I'm brewing is probably as close as the deck will ever get to being "finished" barring something like you mention, that is a strict upgrade or improves the main strategy...

Re: Sidisi, Brood Tyrant - Zombie Horde and Shenanigans

Yeah, this set didn't bring a lot of potential for Sidisi but what it did bring is absurd. That's the problem I always had with this deck once it reached its optimal form: making cuts. Sometimes I end up just not cutting anything. It would have to either improve the main strategy or be a strict upgr...

Re: Sidisi, Brood Tyrant - Zombie Horde and Shenanigans

Here's my review for Adventures in the Forgotten Realms : Death-Priest of Myrkul - Isn't bad for the Zombie Build but we have better zombie lords for the deck anyways. However, if it's cheap enough, it can go in the Budget Build. Circle of Dreams Druid - 100% going in the deck. Is that even a questi...

Re: Sidisi, Brood Tyrant - Zombie Horde and Shenanigans

Oh yea, I'm burning through a good chunk of the deck. The problem is with my luck I almost always hit of the titans on mills and reset my deck. I've actually debated going down to just one of the titans to compensate for this. That is something you can do. If your meta is very low on graveyard hate...

Re: Sidisi, Brood Tyrant - Zombie Horde and Shenanigans

Nice list! I always love seeing yours for inspiration for mine (I actually just re-watched your Sidisi episode a few minutes ago). I'm in the process of retooling mine towards a more recursive deck with more interaction as I move it away from being so zombie-centric (my last list was a hybrid of th...
