   "The Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Collaboration Begins" https://magic.wizards.com/en/news/announcements/the-magic-the-gathering-marvel-collaboration-begins This has to be a too-late April's Fool joke, right? That no one has responded to this yet is... I mean that's a...

Re: How familiar are you with Doctor Who?

I watched from Eccleston up through the start of Jodi's run. I liked her as the Doctor, but as DirkGently said, a lot of the plot had started to have the kind of 'the stakes don't matter' feel - so I stopped watching after the second or third episode of her run. I really liked The Twelfth Doctor bec...

Re: [Off-Topic] Community Chat Thread

Really the only tangible difference there is a statute of limitations; Arabian Nights is an old enough IP they don't need to pay anyone to replicate it. Eh, WotC has always drawn from external sources. Not quite as bluntly as this, but I just don't care anymore. There will probably be a point at wh...

Re: Help for my deck

Welcome to the forums, VicSaw ! People usually post their decklists in the subforum that's dedicated to them. There's even a thread specifically for asking for help with your deck. That said, what kind of game are you looking to play? If you look at the lists that are out there for various decks (in...

Re: confusing rules the deck

Mutate in general generates a lot of weird stuff :P Q: What happens if everyone has a Notion Thief ? According to Gatherer, the person drawing a card chooses which opponent's Notion Thief applies, then that player does the same, choosing a Notion Thief that wasn't chosen this way, and so on until t...

Re: confusing rules the deck

I'll submit Mairsil, the Pretender and any way to make him A) a planeswalker, or B) an "attachment." It's a good way to get bizarre.

Re: [Off-Topic] Community Chat Thread

Sometimes I just want to explain the bizarre mechanics to people, you know? Turn Mairsil, the Pretender into an enchantment with Dominating Licid and then activate Vorpal Sword . It's counterintuitive nonsense and it's super fun. I still have your list open and I'm still considering it. I look forw...

Re: [Off-Topic] Community Chat Thread

Yeah, I'm actually retooling the deck to a much more convoluted midrange layered combo play style, that's thankfully for the most part a damn sight cheaper. It's gonna be nightmarish to rules lawyer through, but the deck is kind of a labor of love. I've thought about pulling it apart before but no ...

Re: [Off-Topic] Community Chat Thread

Can't blame you, Tayam is known as one of the more complex decks in any format of magic. Pulling this conversation out of the Raffine thread. I love the Tayam lines! There's some beautiful complexity to what you can do. Chain of Smog + Witherbloom Apprentice is such a clean, unintuitive line. I kno...

snip Basically a F-16 fighter jet made of biceps (Powerthirst, anyone?). snap Anyway, my list is decidedly NOT casual, but I have deliberately eschewed as many EDH taboos are possible. No combos, no mld, no alternate wincons, no stax, nothing but pure combat damage. The time magic might as well be ...

Re: Big Timmy Style: Xenagos, Double Stuffed Ohnoeos

I said some stuff I've been trying to grok qwc but it feels just kinda weird in a vacuum. Maybe it's better than I'm thinking with extra combat steps? That's a lot of damage with one (something like 48 trampling). It seems Solid just not quite what I'm wanting. That said the mana cost is so cheap I...

Re: Big Timmy Style: Xenagos, Double Stuffed Ohnoeos

Xenagos leads to some fun lines of play. Just that feeling of "every turn from about 3 on I'm going to threaten to kill at least one player" is pretty cool. And the haste means that sweepers aren't as effective. That said, two from plushpenguin 's masterful list that I've never regretted a...

Re: The Community Deck Build Project v6.0

It seems like it could be a fun ride. I like that it's going to seem low-to-the-ground and then win out of nowhere. Getting to that point seems like it might be hard in today's EDH, but at the right table, this would be a gas. Thanks everyone!

Re: The Community Deck Build Project v6.0

Can I suggest an odd one on the protection front? I'll understand if it's a no, but I'd wonder what y'all think: Veilstone Amulet. We run enough instants to use it reactively. If this fails (even if it don' doesn't), I'll agree we need some boots.

Re: The Community Deck Build Project v6.0

I have a question. What is Surge to Victory providing us that Mizzix's Mastery can't out perform? At the initial six investment, we go mana negative if we "free"cast anything under six. And it's just the one cast. Maybe I'm looking at it from the wrong perspective but I'm not sold. Perhap...

Re: The Community Deck Build Project v6.0

I'm going to nominate Surge to Victory because it's an odd one and I think we can leverage it better than many. We could turn any number of our higher cost spells into game off a Velo flip (for which he will need one more power), or we can cast it prior to combat to capitalize on a big one, or just ...

Re: The Prismatic Piper - A Massive Pile

Are you married to the Prismatic Piper? It seems like you could use any number of green partners to give yourself a bit of an edge, like lifelink or big beats (Ikra or Kamahl) if necessary. Not like you really ever have to cast them.

Re: The Community Deck Build Project v6.0

Another six. Hmm. Well let's stimulate some conversation, namely the monkey in the room; Why this over Cleansing Nova ? If nothing else, I think the 3mv or less feature will work well for us vs more streamlined decks. Edit: I guess I'm not sure, if we're running a lot of tokens. The increased flexi...
