Re: Queen Kayla - Norin Soul Sisters

Looks absolutely sweet! I think you might still want Winota, Joiner of Forces in the mix, since there's so much overlap from your last list.

Re: Sorrow's Path Golos - another stupid deck by DirkGently (Decklist up!)

I can speak to that DirkGently — your decks are a really creative base to jump off of that are well put together, and occupy a nice space of not winning out of nowhere, while still "doing the thing" even if you don't wind up winning the game. I've put together a few of your decks over the ...

Re: Thrasios and Tormod's Field of the Dead

Doesn't Zimone and Dina just trigger twice and be done? Good card, but it doesn't seem like an absurd engine unless you have something like Retreat to Coralhelm in play too.

Re: Leori, Sparktouched Hunter - I'm less popular than freaking Omarthis? Wtf?

Quintorius Kand seems like a shoe-in for this deck. Double Discover 4 is extremely strong.

I'm also looking to assimilate a more robust interaction package.

What do you think is the minimum number of walkers to reliably have 1 on turn 4?

Re: Raff Capashen, Ship's mage - Planeswalkers

I like Brought Back and Cosmic Intervention in all my non green white decks for the interaction with fetches. They also do well in resetting planeswalkers when someone attacks them down.

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Teferi's Puzzle Box

It's in the vintage cube that LSV drafts, as a combo with Orcish Bowmasters, Hullbreacher, Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, etc.

Might have been printed for something silly, but it's since turned sinister.

Re: Sefris of the Kind of Obvious Ways

A buddy of mine was walking me through his new The Ancient One deck- reanimator for really big drops. I started thinking about the card for this deck. Thoughts?

I was also thinking about the fetchable surveil suite for this deck. ETBT, but could get a Sefris trigger off a fetch.

SCD: Mercadia’s Downfall

Mercadia's Downfall — I've never seen this card cast in a game before, but it just seems absolutely wild as a finisher. My opponents are not typically on mono color or budget brews - so I'm thinking an average 8 turn game, it's getting at LEAST +4 power, and often much more. Doesn't take a big boar...

Re: Most brain-dead commanders in existence

I think Miirym, Sentinel Wyrm is pretty ideal for this. I built one for a friend of mine and she now wins games. Dragon dragon dragon cyclonic rift. Don't you even. Just like I have to say a lot in Poke'mon and Fighting games: being salty that you lose to something does not mean its braindead. At l...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Liliana of the Dark Realms

I play her in Carth the Lion where she threatens to Lake of the Dead ify all my swamps on the second rotation. For anyone who has never gotten to ultimate their planeswalkers outside of Doubling Season shenanigans, I can't recommend Carth the Lion as a deck enough. I will regularly end the game with...

Re: Galaddriel, Raise the Alarm Tribal

I kind of like a Whitemane Lion with these types of commanders. Preordain with buyback 0 so you can play it on your opponents turns seems like a good get. Oketra's Monument is really great with your actual creatures, but not so hot with the token makers. Tendershoot Dryad is one I would consider - t...

Curious if you still play this deck?

Phyrexian Portal and Cityscape Leveler are some fun new toys.

Re: Phelddagrif: Show Weakness to Hide Your Strength

I'm curious for thoughts on Shadowspear

The most relevant parts in my mind are the lifelink and the ability to remove hexproof / indestructible.

Sometimes I take an early wallop with this deck, and getting 5 life back would be a good get.

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Wood Elemental

What more can be said about the mechanics than that it's terrible? It's been covered. That art, though. The facial expression makes it look like a tree taking a constipated %$#%. May I introduce you to the woodimals of Knotts Berry Farms? https://www.markeades.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Baby-Ca...

Regarding Liquimetal Torque - glad to be a small part in annoying Jon.

Glad you're liking the list - she kinda looks like Etali-at-home.

The Best Relentless Rats

Dunadain 's Yidaro, Wandering Monster monster thread got me thinking, because I briefly played a Yidaro, Wandering Monster Jeskai control deck in the early Ikoria standard - 4 Yidaro's all cycling for profit and an eventual beater… What would be your o in for the best card in Commander to receive t...

Re: Phelddagrif: Show Weakness to Hide Your Strength

Back before I was proxying, I had a huge dilemma between ordering heavily played Burgeoning or heavily played Exploration . I went with Burgeoning — and noticed many times that I would rather it be Exploration . Notably, loaming above 7 cards, which is one of the main ways we end up with more lands.

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Oriq Loremage

Is anyone ever attacking with Oriq Loremage?

It was briefly in Sefris of the Hidden Ways for me, but I took it out for a looter before ever drawing it.

Blinking for theft and 5 land untap is pretty sweet - sort of a mana doubler mode for Aminatou, the Fateshifter.

Re: Leori, Sparktouched Hunter - I'm less popular than freaking Omarthis? Wtf?

I have a Carth the Lion deck - only seems fitting to round it out with the other half of the planeswalkers :D

Are you mostly angling for commander asap, play any walker after to profit?

Or is it moreso wait for the coast to be clear?

Re: Smeagol, Helping Himself to Your Precious Lands

Trying to build this deck on Arena for historic brawl — I'm really torn between the aristocrats style and going straight into tempt cards. Preliminary games have shown that it's more difficult to get a self sac online by the turn 3 Sméagol. I'm wondering if it might be better to try to enable a turn...
