Re: [Official] State of Modern Thread (B&R 07/08/2019)
What's everyone's predictions for future bannings in the shltshow that is Modren? Mine: Within six months, Opal and Urza banned. Within a year, Ancient Stirrings and/or Once Upon a Time banned. Modern is actually great right now, a ton of diversity, and I feel like we are looking for scapegoats to ...

Re: [Official] State of Modern Thread (B&R 07/08/2019)
I should have known better than to expect actual objective conjecture from the "Looting is ok!" crowd. Sigh. The forums are not a monolith. And for my 2 cents: Looting is not OK and I've been saying just that for nearly a year, Stoneforge is laughably mediocre and has done nothing of impo...

Re: [Official] State of Modern Thread (B&R 07/08/2019)
I'm hearing a lot of anecdotal stories about how great jitte was back in the day. I just fail to see any non fair deck using even using Jitte, let alone "oppressing the format" with it. We WANT to help fair decks don't we? THis is a card that helps fair decks. UW SFM decks MIGHT use it in...

Re: [Official] State of Modern Thread (B&R 07/08/2019)
Pretty sure what makes stonefore nutty is the fact that it can fetch out Jitte in legacy, not batterskull. Tapping out on t2 to fetch a batterskull, then "vialing" it in on t3 isn't much better than where Dredge and Phoenix sit at T3. Infect is setting up lethal, midrange mains assassin's ...

Re: [Official] State of Modern Thread (B&R 07/08/2019)
Karn, the Great Creator removes a lot of the deck-building decision process when it comes to choosing include card XYZ in the main, or leave it in the side. You just put a bunch of stuff you might need in the side, and wish them out as needed. Being able to tutor out whatever you want from your sid...

I'm locked into 3 Hexdrinker, and I don't think it's moving. I tried unearth and I wasn't fond of it, I prefer Liliana, the last hope she doesn't put it into play, but she can also find something for you to get. +1 on dorks mimics one of Wrenn and Six's functions in Jund.

Re: [Official] State of Modern Thread (B&R 07/08/2019)
I don't remember what was the exact justification for banning birthing pod , but I seem to remember it was both that it could incorporate whatever new creature they printed and that it made the games too similar. I just wonder if they would end-up using a similar argument against little karn. I'm n...
